Lark in the Park is an annual event based in Londonderry / Derry and with Devine construction as a new sponsor this year and a big entry with a lot of WRC
and famous RWD cars it looked to be a good wee day out. Well for the family that is as for the hardened rally fan it isn’t really that great but it gets
everyone a good look at the machinery in a dsafe and controlled environment which i think is good for familys and younger folk to get interested in the
best sport this country has to offer! The stages where tight, tricky and car destroying if the driver put 1 wheel wrong as seen on stage 2 with an astra
rolling in front of us and a sierra buckling the front steering and suspension but he mahanged to get to the finish line and some how his service crew got
it fixed for the next stage so thats commitment! up at the front the pace was set with Biggerstaff showing how his classic metro still has it in her
finishing 3rd overall while Devine took 2nd and Arthurs proved the Accent which has been doing a lot of events this year can win against tough compitition.
On display was a few car stands with very immaculate cars for all to see and also the PSNI with a road safety campain. The weather was brilliant and wasn’t
a bad all round day for all and i’m sure i’ll be back again next year.
