A tad weary after Belfast and Furious we grabbed a quick bite to eat before heading to the eagerly awaited Lurgan cruise. Stevie from just-cruizin.com had been building me up all week for this event as it was on private property (Centrepoint cinema) with owners permission.

For some reason I always end up leading a convoy, and yes, every time end up making a few wrong turns but we did make it to Centerpoint in the end. I was greeted at the gate by Stevie who made sure we were well looked after and we got parked up. By this time the action was well underway with the twin-cams out raging around a cone. Sideways Buff was out with another carlton diffing around the cone facing each other with some tight rings then changing into crowd-clipping drifts. Graham (Ka Klub) sprinted to the centre, lifted the cone and put it on his head. For what reason we will never know but he did end up with a face covered in rubber!

The CruiseIrl Supra then fired out into the arena which sparked a roar from the crowd as the tuned monster prepared to circle. Unfortunately with no LSD the supra would just not go round – the ouside wheel smoking away the tyre, the car ambling round. It was not long until the proper action resumed with the return of a twin cam, this time in supercharged, wide arched guise. I charged in with the camera to join Junior and co from cruiseirl who were standing with Graham who had decided to put the cone down and concentrate on taking more photos!

A Mercedes CLK was proudly wearing RMS numberplates as she stormed in for circle after circle of rubber shredding drifts. A BMW M3 driver showed incredible control as he put the Uberpanzer tightly around the cone before making way for a crazed Lexus IS200 driver to fill the sky with smoke. Yet more twin-cams were out and Jacqui (Rugrat) took pride in telling me "the girl in the black twin cam is much better than all you boys."

A great end to another mad show weekend. The turnout to this cruise was one of the best this year with hundeds upon hundreds of cars turning up in Lurgan and absolutely loads of action. Well done to Stevie and his team.

Andy is the founding member of RMS, and when he's not following motoring events around the UK and Ireland he can be found on the track (sideways, having competed in top level drifting for a decade), or of course he'll be on the forum.
