Just seeing this thread after the pics from the weekend meet. I was going to say it would be perfect with the window trim de-chromed but sounds you've already got that planned. Will look really well once that's done! Awesome looking car!

That's a lovely car and unlike some manufacturers these days, theres no doubt that it's the racey version. Beefed up.

I'd be interested to hear why the Subaru was a terrible car for you, did it give bother or did you just never gel with it?
Thanks Lee, on the scoob I did have some mechanical issues at the start of ownership…however I didn’t really enjoy driving it. Didn’t like how far up you sat, interior felt like it was from the early 90’s and quality overall was quite poor. I didn’t like how it drove when you were just tootling about town, when giving it some it was great but just not for me. Again I’m comparing it to an evo of the same age. Miles better in every way imo.

Hey Guys, thought since I never posted any pics in sunlight I would throw a few up! the paintwork really pops now and the gloss levels are insane helped by the gtechniq ceramic coating!

Also got a new shifter gator in alcantara/red stitching to match the seats & steering wheel… it’s currently leather but is a bit out of place as there isn’t any in the car apart from that!

Spotted you yesterday on Boucher - was a few cars behind you. Awesome road presence and the pops and bangs got my 4 year olds attention when we were walking over to Costa :joy:

haha thanks we were out on the hunt for a new sofa… what a hateful process : unamused: very loud for a stock car I must say, thankfully only get the pops & bangs when in sport mode because I couldn’t deal with that all the time lol

Thanks Tufty, tbh I was the same… never really gave them a second thought. Read a few reviews on them, then when this one popped up at a Renault dealership over here I went to take a look. Fell in love with the look of it and drives like a dream

I did like how walkers old one looked and I had a play with him in the RS4 before he did some work and it was a good going car after the work he done it was a rocket in comparison.

I am looking forward to seeing yours in the flesh at some point in the future. The colour does it for me and no doubt it doesnt hang about either.

Headed into Belfast yesterday for some Christmas shopping & the annual market trip. Decided to park in Victoria square underground. £20 for the pleasure you best believe I’m going to take a photo to make it worth the while :joy:

The car park is such a rip and there are only a small handful of spaces that I would actually be happy to park in

I far prefer Anne Sq - less that 10 min walk to Vic Sq which is a fraction of the price - just go to the upper decks which are usually empty
Parked in st Anne’s last night so OH didn’t have far to walk in heels, was in van and had to get her to get before I parked as spaces are tight definitely wouldn’t park anything nice in it

Finally got round to washing this thing! I didn’t take any before photos but it was absolutely bogging. After spending 20 mins de-frosting the hose I got stuck in.

I was thinking of getting my steering wheel re-trimmed in full alcantara however I know the trophy R model comes with this, a quick call to Renault parts dept and they could get me a new one for not much more than the price of a re-trim! should be arriving in the next few weeks.

And with the sun going down I had to take a few pics!

Looks fantastic. Off I go to YouTube to see how they sound 😆

They sound great standard, I have a centre res delete and pops, bangs and burbles like mad when in race mode. In comfort mode is very civilised too. If your down at the cars & coffee on the 31st you’re more than welcome to a few revs :grinning:

Wouldn't mind hearing that too to compare it to my standard one

Hey Guys, a few more little upgrades over this past while, Finally my Trophy R steering wheel had landed with Renault after months of waiting of it arriving from France. Absolutely over the moon, it really feels like it changes the car, such a nice place to sit!

At the same time I had the custom Alcantara Shifter gaitor fitted. Really sets off the interior as everything now matches.

And everything together…

Next up was the facelift shark fin Ariel. Such a change from the 90’s spec original. Quite embarrassing it came with it to be honest. Looks a million times better now I think

Also managed to pick up a wee alonso era F1 jacket to keep in the back lol

I have booked in with art in motion to have a few bits & pieces wrapped gloss black, I also recently had a bit of EXPEL PPF applied to the rear arches by Complete Car Care. Top job & would highly recommend!

Thanks Guys

Unreal Sam! Always a fan of these and the civic type R. ❤️ orange really pops.
Thanks! Love the FK8 type R too. But maybe as a weekend car is it’s not the most subtle on the road. (Me saying that owning a bright orange car I know :joy: ) but it doesn’t have huge wings and splitters everywhere
