2016 WEC Silverstone 6hour

Got one for me and the wife yesterday. £40 for Fri-Sun tickets and £35 for Sunday only.

We are seats Row 007, Seat 008 and 009. Even if there are 2 seats in a row we are still getting the free pit walk Fingers crossed should make for some great pictures!

This is on this Friday-Sunday - We have weekend tickets but we're taking a detour to Alton Towers on Friday/Saturday.

I watched the last hour of this on Quest (had I known it was on there, I'd have taped the BTCC and watched this the whole way through). The cornering speeds of the LMP class cars is unbelievable at times, especially when you have GT classes on the same bit of track.

Thanks @Crow555 we had a great time! The whole series is live on Motors TV btw next one is 7th May. Cannot wait I will be tuning in.

We got to see some awesome stuff.

We got to walk around and see the car stands.. Some amazing cars including original Ford GT, a GT40 and the winning Audi R18 TDI

Then we got to do the pit walk. What an amazing (and busy) place!

We then saw the safety cars and medical cars

After that we had a cheeky run up to the wing where we got to stay for about 30-45 minutes before being asked to leave as we didn't have a pass (oops)

Then we sat at the start line for the start. The commentator said "gentlemen start your engines" and the sound was amazing. Then each car drove off to do two pace laps with the two Audi, two Porsche and two Toyota's (the only LMP-H cars) with the rest following.

There where a few incidents that required the safety cars or FCY's


Once thing I would say is - holy **** that Ford GT car is bloody deafening. Jemma was standing beside me even shouting directly in her ear she could not hear me.

We found it was a lot better than the F1 mainly as there wasn't as many people and you could cruise around and take things in. Would recommend going

No problem mate. Also the eLMS (The European series) was on as well as the Porsche challenge. The Ferrari's from the eLMS are just as deafening. I'm pretty sure they where louder than the old F1 cars (specifically the RedBull that came to Belfast)
