Cbt for a scooter/moped.

Me and my pal have decided to buy a couple of retroish looking 125cc scooters for a bit of craic over the summer. I have the full bike licence which i passed back in 2005.
As far as i was aware any numpty with a drivers licence could hop on to a moped up to a 125.
My pal was telling me he needed a CBT course before he can get out and about.
He is 36 with a full licence for 18 years. Does he definately need to do this cbt thing.

Not local, but Phillip McCallen will do it for £150 and in 1 day.

Thanks for the reply. Hes doing it with Dara Fox over in Coleraine. I did my bike test with him years ago. Great fella !
