Watched something on YouTube about Newey leaving Redbull and if he were to go today Redbull could, if they really wanted to, stop him from working until 2027 as he's under contract to them until then. Most likely would be an enforced 12 months gardening leave unless they let him do less which is highly unlikely (why would they as it would hand an advantage to whatever team he joins?). This means that if he were to leave today he couldn't actually work for anyone until mid 2025 this would be too late for the next Gen of cars as they the design would already be well underway by then. But as we all know things can change quickly in F1 and I'm sure even joining part way though the development of a new concept he would majorly influence it's direction.

They also said he could just retire as he doesn't need the money and he's nothing to prove.

It's going to be interesting to see and his next move could well influence the whole of F1 for a while.

Money talks, contracts are worthless as has been proven many many times before.

Would love to see Newey move to Ferrari, he has stated he has wanted to work with them and Hamilton. Would love to see this combination work.

As much as seeing Newey at Aston as Honda will be providing their engines, with Stroll as a driver they will always be held back by him

Looks like Audi have went with Hulkenberg instead of Bottas to be their no.2 driver to back up the new star man.

I don’t see him as an upgrade on multiple race winner, Bottas. But he’s known to the team & a safe pair of hands.

Bottas would be a good option for Williams. Can’t see him at Haas or RB.

It's bad when the movements of a design chief are more interesting than watching a race if you just focus on the car winning it 🤣

Wonder if he'll just retire....the Ferrari Americas Cup thing might sway him a bit. Big thing is if Fred can ensure that the team don't go all Italian and let him actually do the work and make changes he wants if he does go there.

Id have said he'd retire, but the fact he's leaving such a short time before the end of his contract id think he has other plans.

Great work by Jordan to get him out of that contract so quickly and without having to take gardening leave. Impressive actually.

Yea from the FFS podcast it sound like him and EJ spend a lot of time together in South Africa.
Newey was on FFS a few weeks ago and I got the feeling he might have been drunk during the recording.

They're great on the FFS podcast too!

I have a lot of time for EJ given what he's achieved and the amount of connections he has in the sport.

The drivers conference was interesting enough! Not sure Hamilton has a great poker face 🤣. Hopefully Fred has played a blinder for Ferrari 🤞

Apparently Adrian met with Fred Vassuer in London this week to discuss the possibility of him joining Ferrari.
