I never in a million years thought a car could gain enough velocity to be cut in half in the event of a crash, it is mind blowing just seeing the two separate halves of the car. Dreadful accident, I know this will be a sobering thought when I next go out in the car anyway. RIP all involved and hopefully beemer driver makes a full recovery.

sad thing to happen , especially this time of year .

no evos apart from maybe a 10 are what you would call sturdy.
1-4's are supposed to be the worst.
panels about as thick as a 1980's fiat uno.
but that just folded up like a tin can!

Cars dont just break in two if they hit something they fold around it, something funny about the state of that motor.

Have you felt how light genuine panels for most new cars are ? Manufacturers are so concerned with mpg etc that the build quality doesnt matter. New cars like the last of the vectras and latest model of mondeo which we work on have such light panels, even 2005 civics quarter panels are like paper shocking imo

At least in new cars you've got crumple zones and areas designed to bend and fold in an accident, in an older car you're just at the mercy of physics.

Just saw the video, horrendous! The driver of the BMW was apparently rubbered, don't understand what possesses people to don their car keys after they've had a skinful :worried:

It doesn't but someone I know who lives out that direction is friends with a nurse that works in the ward he's in and he was intoxicated when he arrived at the hospital. He'll definitely do time for it and so he should, I've zero sympathy for drunk drivers (n)

Seriously lads can ye not stop making random guesses at what happened? As if the BMW driver isn't in a bad enough state already, his reputation being totally ruined by saying DUI if he wasn't is just stupid!

RIP to the 3 killed and thoughts to their families :worried:

People seem to like to speculate and throw mud in these threads.

At least he was fortunate enough to walk away from it but sorry IF he was and I'm quite sure the information I was given is very accurate then I've no sympathy

Emm why am I being flamed for providing input? Only telling what I've been told same as other people and I did say in my initial post "apparently", only one person really knows what happened and thats the driver of the BMW

I've just had a phone call in relation to the last few posts and the bull**** that is being talked!

The driver of the bmw was breathalised at the scene of the crash and was clear. I think the driver has had a traumatic enough week without this sort of slander being spread.

This has been a terrible crash and as said the police will know the exact in's and out's so let them do the investigating and think about the friends and families of those who have lost their lives.

I cannot believe what I am reading here! A horrific accident has taken place, which has resulted in the death of 3 people. This will have devastated the friends and families of those involved. Have some respect.

Graham is 100% correct.
Also:
BMW driver is NOT at fault. The Evo has crossed into his lane, apparently sideways and been struck. It's a tradgic loss of life.
