Can I just say I'm not a Landrover man, but this is by far my favourite thread on here atm! We need a coffee meet to get a look round this machine when you're done!
Of course, I usually talk more than i work though be warned

So ive been working away on the wiring this week, Mainly focused on the cubby box

Loom under the box
14572874_1909751452591629_259805510144710683_n.jpg

Connectors for the box in the trap door to get too the tbox these also pull through to get the lid out easily.
14591640_1909751309258310_382229709620174360_n.jpg

I added a usb charging port and a extra 12v socket too the front of the box for charging phones etc.

How it all connects up i left enough slack to tip the box on its back and then unplug the cables.
14915194_1909751325924975_5745871462287241303_n.jpg

lit up like Christmas still the winch controls and interior lights to get a loom made up for
14907598_1909751289258312_2505993947285924174_n.jpg

The priority's, tested the drivers one out, could be nice for a nap in the shed.

Moving forwards and backwards this weekend.
The oil leak around the tappet cover gasket was annoying me so i decided to combine that job with changing the VE's static timing advanced a tooth to gain some more power and compensate for the larger injectors. Quite a large job

The static timing on euro 2's is set at E, the position C is 1 tooth advanced and was euro 1 emissions position. This will improve MPG and pick up at mid and high rpms at the sacrifice of some torque at low rpms and around idle. Not something im too worried about.
14573009_1910266602540114_6901827843720853395_n.jpg

So to remove the VE you need a special spanner bosch/cummins made.. i dont have one so ive ground and butchered some and a few wobble bars.
14907577_1910266749206766_1035241485303021901_n.jpg

Then remove all this
14590355_1910266679206773_4690683477953462726_n.jpg

Leaving me acess to the bolts of the tappet cover gasket
14606359_1910266622540112_1770520522528091528_n.jpg

Remove it and a coat of paint
14611036_1910266945873413_637361017528871873_n.jpg 14907086_1910266885873419_5852911563179667655_n.jpg

The sound deading cover was falling apart so i am ordering one waiting on it to arrive. ive just refitted the plate and ill wait for it and the new parts
14639885_1910267075873400_228974897145801210_n.jpg

Ive gotton my High volume lift pump sorted just waiting on a few parts for piping and a spacer, this will increase the low pressure fuel to the pump from 5 psi to 12psi. Allowing the pump to run faster and fill the delivery ports better at high rpm. Also doesn't pour diesel into the oil when it fails like the diaphragm type pump :confounded:
DSC_0329.JPG

Ordered the Winch bumper this week and hoping it arrives soon. Another big piece of the puzzle sorted.

Off all next week so should be cracking on as long as parts are plentiful and time allows.

Probably one of the biggest updates with the least pictures :confounded:

Been hammering away at the 130 for a few days now with some help. 90% of the main wirings now complete. Front ends on and loosly in place for some more testing. Front bumpers on DRL's front fogs wired, winch wiring in place and the fans now woring on the rad.

Also got the central locking wiring run to the doors. id need to get someone to paint them as i dont have an oven and its far too cold for it now.

Apologizes for the lack of detail but ive been in the zone.

Out with cardboard and a tape today getting the sliders and transmission tunnel sized for material. Think im settled on this design for the rocksliders, I always liked the step created by tree bars but they are super heavy and poorly made in some cases so Louis has made some dimple dies on the lathe and ive been itching to use them. Get them out for laser next week possibly.

@David.S I think is was told me not to have open sliders/steps as your foot could get caught in it.

Yes you are right , make sure the gaps are small.

Cheers Lads, they wont be massive though just wide enough to tie in with the +2" arches to cover the tyres, Ill probably integrate a mud guard on the front section. As my disco was terrible for throwing up mud on the doors with the wider tyres.

You could always infill the gap with a peice of perferated plate i suppose if you wanted to go super wide.

I was worried about our dog putting his paw in the gap. I added the large arch guards to cut down on mud splash.

I wish I had your patience and skill.

Its time more than anything but definitely patience, not having the right tools means trial and error alot.

This will be a 2 parter for this weekend
Finished fitting the front wings with stainless fasteners and then the arches. Had a bit of a play with the air suspension and a preview of the next section of the exhaust.

Got the last of the mountings done on the exhaust now and in the quest for some more reliability and power replaced the diaphram lift pump with a piston type off a newer engine then spaced it to provide 9-11 psi of fuel pressure.

Rear section after flexi rubber mounted
15095667_1919542864945821_3586139747877966840_n.jpg

Front section hard mounted to engine with long brackets for some expansion
15027493_1919542838279157_2809812472499870437_n.jpg

New pump installed and spaced
15055699_1919542848279156_1547406238351110501_n.jpg

Now making a steady 9psi on idle instead of 4.

@Ged what are you taking your pictures and video on? it's all remarkably clear!

Just my Phone, the last video was taken on an iphone and its terrible. Ive an xperia and it takes pictures as good as my 5D but it doesn't have the handiness of being able to change lens.

Cheers,
been a bit cold to be out in the cattle shed so ive been working on other bits and pieces in the house

Firstly a cover plate for the pneumatic valves to operate the high and lo and difflock on the transfer case. should look well on the transmission tunnel when i fab it.
15122930_1920053351561439_6258517052426320498_o.jpg

Also still not 100% on the exhaust so been playing with designs and ive narrowed it down to 2 now a straight 3" or a ellipse 3" leaning toward the ellipse atm.
15133856_10157692689495487_332429885_o.jpg 15145101_10157692689560487_1105663338_o.jpg 15102136_10157689897175487_1087261750_o.jpg

Also received a delivery of a boost controller and a stainless 1/8 EGT boss to weld into the exhaust. Should help me get some more power out of the cummins reliably.

Exhaust will be finished this weekend i hope fingers crossed :p
