Any interest if i where to put this up for sale?

Just hasn't really got any use this past few years. bit of a shame Think it may be time too clear some room for something else.

Get in touch, have many saxo related spares and extra wheels tyres etc etc. Not interested in PX or Breaking.

Currently sorn but can MOT.

Cheers Ged

Stick it up on Saxperience and eBay. Seem to be the only places that high spec'd cars sell complete. It'll break your heart when you sell it!

Got a few offers on the car but not really worth selling for all id get, I decided id keep it until they become like rocking horse excrement.

Out of the container for the first time in ages she needs a wash tbh.

and onto the operating table

So yea about that rust pulled off the side skirts and took into everywhere i could get with the wire wheel and unveiled some surface rust on the sills and boot floor.

Sills are also pretty marred up from jacking the car up and down and using axle stands. straighened em out with a hammer and grips

Buzzweld RCP used on everything

Also noticed the rear caliper was wering one pad only

So i stripped and rebuilt the caliper and fitted new pads

hehe as much of a sleeper that would make it i cant get them over the brakes anymore, those are 16"s and the calipers almost touch. Loads more updates this week as i plan to work through it the dodge and the 110 while im off.

Ah no worries i see Photbucket and image shack have ruined my thread.. Maggie runs a high spec engine i used to use it for track days but havent had time this past 5 years.

Heres a few pics of the rest of the car.

Well since 2017 much has happened but i still have the saxo it hasnt seen the light of day until last week when after almost finishing the workshop i thought feck it ill get maggie fired up and into it.. and this is where the saga begins.

Getting it dug out of the container was one problem getting the battery charged a fairly simple task.

Then as the fuel pump burst into life and i turned the key a metallic clunk and a engine that wouldnt turn over. Some investigation later revealed a timing belt plastered in oil and lieing for 3 years had slipped teeth, so after 2 hours dragging it out of the container with the landy and pushing it into the shed i got stripping.

59834195_2460193787547390_9062760832877723648_n.jpg

I knew from the slipped timing it was going to have done some damage so the best course was to get the head off

2 bent inlet valves from the little mishap

58695749_2454838791416223_7320290393277333504_n (1).jpg

So after ringing round for 2 valves timing belt and headgasket i started getting it all back together
59636541_2460193690880733_9182141695137939456_n.jpg

The next problem was remembering and working out what should the timing be on this engine, there was no way to have marks so between myself and steven i got the dial on the crank and started trying to rough in the cam timing from the manufactures specs and go from there.

59728473_2460193727547396_6742565108112687104_n.jpg

So after all that i fixed some more issues with my loose throttle body linkages did a compression check and put in new plugs and a new coil pack.

So shes running again like a swiss watch and i really want to get some work done on this wee car and get it out this year to a few events.

Cheers,

Awesome. Always look at this as a proper rms’r car lol

Brings back memories of reading about this, Claire’s 106 gti and Ruth’s mint Yaris.

Those where the days now mind sitting in mcdonalds in lisburn at the meets talking crap must be easily 10-12 years ago.

Jesus been a while since I updated this thread,
Ive been plotting what to do next since the LS3 left the shed and Im thinking its time that Maggie got some love.
Started her a month or 2 ago still running great since we sorted the cam belt issue 2 years ago :confounded:. Ive buired it well into storage over those years. Im thinking I might start looking into turning her back into a bit of a road car, maybe some carpet and seats. I doubt ill ever get to a trackday with her anytime soon (been planning on one for like 10 years now lol) So going to get her tighted up and MOTed this year. (Best laid plans)

Still sounds like I remember it, Almost owned her for 15 years now. The last mot was 2016 according to the DVLA. Ive not used it really at all in the last 10 years and it seems like a bit of a waste, so im thinking of turning it into something else. Removing the swirl pot and huge bosch fuel pump and going for a modern in tank brushless pump to feed her routing the lines back underneath refitting a radio etc. Remove the harness and refit 3 point belts. Think ill keep the cage but I may modify the door bars for easier access.

Dont really know but I want to get some use out it of some way, open for ideas anyways.

Cheers,
Ged

Well its decision time for old maggie. Due to the continued expansion of my Non-profit making enterprise of fixing old scrap, I am prepping to concrete the yard, so the container that holds the old girl needed emptied to be moved. Maybe its the constant lieing around but the fuel pump wouldnt chooch.

She was forcibly removed from hibernation by the digger and now the question remains. what to do??

1621256778448.png

option 1 new swirl pot with internal walbro either mounted underneath or inside with all lines going underneath, sick of the smell of petrol inside the car cannot find a leak,

option 2 new walbro in tank and route all lines underneath

There are some nice shiney billet options avalible now and I do like shiney.

She also needs a new battery as its died in hibernation

Will I ever bother my hole to get it on the road.. stay tuned and see lol..

Ive bigger problems though as the boss is not happy with my attempts at improving our garden...

So if anyone has any contacts or links to good suppliers of pumps and lines etc let me know, I just bought the last ones off the bay.

Cheers,
Ged

Well all my great plans of 2021 failed.. I did get the yard concreted but maggie didnt get any attention... until today.

Easter was a good time to work on my own projects for once.

Got maggies batterys charged and got it out of the container, she wasnt happy at all

Fuel was like varnish 2 bad injectors bad plugs, but after some TLC she was back up and running and got a quick bath.
