Letting you know about next years show which will be the 40th for this event and while it seems early to be promoting, it is the best time of year for purchasing flights and booking accommodation.
Direct flights out of Dublin are with SAS airlines to Arlanda airport which is just over an hour from Vasteras, hotels are hard to book as most places are reserved from one year to the next but most people camp .
The show is unique in that is like 2 events with a huge showground and a seriously huge cruise which lasts until around 2am.
The showground opens at 8am when cars will arrive at 3 entrances 1 of which has 4 lanes, it also has around 3 miles of stalls selling parts, tyres, wheels etc. Saturday is the big day for the club stands.
The cruise is a well worth watching from different locations the harbour area being the busiest and Halla shopping centre where the burnouts take place.
The Swedes really have a different car culture to us with all ages taking part in the same event, I think the long winters make them go a bit nuts in th summer. All Swedes speak english and they are friendly, food prices and petrol are the same as here but alcohol is expensive and a zero limit is held for drink driving with checks made on drivers at all times of day.
Brilliant show worth visiting and really nice to see something totally different, the rumble of thousands of v8's is great.
