Volvo's!
Hi Folks

My Volvo 740 is in need of 4 new tyres. Its a classic and does around 3-4k per year, so need something with a decent sidewall. Current tyres are only 3 years old and are cracked and dosed.

Current size is 195/65X15, I'm considering going up to 205/65X15 depending on cost.

What would you recommend and prices fitted please. Newtownards would be my local branch.

Thanks

Andy

Hi Andy,

Yes going to a 205/65X15 would give you a larger circumference and sidewall.
We recommend Yokohama Blu Earth tyres and they are available in normal or extra load.

205/65X15 Yokohama Blu Earth 94H - £57 + VAT
205/65X15 Yokohama Blu Earth 99H XL - £63 + VAT

How does that sound?

As for cracking, there are some precautions that you can use to help prevent cracking and dosing:
Tyre covers can be used to protect the tyres from ultraviolet rays.
Try not to use tyre paint as this can cause cracking when mixed with sunlight.
Keep tyres at the manufacturer's recommended pressure.
Tyres should be kept off petroleum-based surfaces such as asphalt during extended periods of storage.

Hope this helps.

Thanks
Jeff
