very nice!!!

My Mum and Dad will be be completely amazed...................................... at my stupidity and I don't intend them to know the price!!!! ...............................Old people just don't get expensive cars in general. How many people have heard the one from the old man 'oh, I think it'll do another mot yet' as the old **** box scraped through for another year and you know they can well afford a new car if they wanted but they're too miserable? I don't ever want to be that man!

My wife doesn't want to know the price but she has an idea!

The best one was the time I was looking for a new GSXR1000 and she hates bikes! I had mentioned to her I was thinking of buying one. Anyway she asked me what I did this day and I said I went over to McCallens to look at a bike, she said 'I don't want to know!'

The following week I bought a 1 year old GSXR1000 off McCallen and got it delivered.

When she got home that night she asked -
'what did you do today?'
'I was out in the garage working at the bike'
'what bike'
'the one you didn't want to know about'

O how I laughed at her face:laughing:. She was so cross it took her an hour to get round to going out to the garage to see the reality!!!!!!!!!

I've done something similar to the gf, I talked that much about a car one time that she eventually snapped and said would you just go and buy it.
I replied, 'i'm glad you feel that way, its already in the garage'

Forgiveness is easier to ask for than permission lol.

On topic, Health to drive, having never been in a Caterham before I can only imagine how raw they are and how involved they must be to drive.

So when is Karen filing for divorce @mike150 :p
She gave up trying to understand my love of cars and bikes years ago and now just ignores the problem in the same way I can't understand women's obsession for shopping. How many bags, shoes and clothes does one women need? Infinite seemingly.

£2,500 sounds very reasonable for a factory build if it roughly takes 100 hours to build. I take it a factory build comes with warranty ? If you built it yourself would it have the same warranty ? If it didn't the £2,500 is a small price to pay for total peace of mind.

Dunno about the warranty if you build it yourself, I think it still has the full warranty but then it still needs iva'd so I suppose that's the check.

The dealer I bought the car off told me a wee story when I asked him if he had received the money transfer (which was like a nuclear blast in my bank account!!!)

He said.................... 'O yes we got it this morning, don't worry, we had a guy a while back that left a car into us to sell, we sold it after a few weeks and I transferred the funds, I dropped him an email and to say it was sold and the money sent but I never heard from him, 2 weeks later I thought I had better call him to check, I asked him if he got the full £94,000 and he said I don't know hold on a while and I'll check, he came back and said, yes its all there, sorry for not replying to your email, it's just that I never check that account.'

WTF:scream:

£94,000 and he never noticed it:scream:

Thoroughly enjoyed this thread and the "forgiveness easier than permission" vibe - not just me then lol. Maybe it's an age thing or the desire to get back to the circuits but the Locaterfield want is strong. No takers for a Zenos then?

A Zenos looks too civilised to me, I did consider a KTM X- Bow but they are very rare and specialised and I don't think they're better

The zenos windscreen and frame looks like a cut down cast off from a mid 90's fiesta and makes an otherwise 'interesting' design look a bit sh1te.
A second hand exige would be a better place for anyone's money imo

My wife only knows there's a Caterham coming today, she has not asked anything about it or has listened when I mentioned it but she has said several times that I should have bought a car that we could use for the kids. I considered an M3 cabriolet or a 911 cabriolet but I know I'd get bored of them after a little while as they are just 'normal' cars. I have a 335D as a normal car, just going to have to make do, LOL

Eta 15:00 hrs:p

I have just read that Zenos have gone into administration, they didn't last long. Shame, looked like a great car but I think it's difficult to get people to part with so much money with unknown future residuals for an unproven car that has, to be blunt, nothing new to offer over the existing cars of this type on the market.

That's a bit like the time I was told I was sleeping on the street if I bought another bike. It took some balls to bring that GSXR home that day!
