Z4/e85 fuel flap actuator replacement

bought a replacement actuator of ebay, had a quick look at trying to get to accessing it, found the emergency release cord and the rubber plug (see below) went to follow it but it looks like the mechanism itself is behind some insulation and a bolted on cover.

is this going to be more hassle than it's worth/tear the boot apart effort? :laughing:
