This was billed as a massive event for motorsport and automotive industry professionals, those actively involved in motorsport and of course the fans.  Held at the enormous Birmingham NEC we went along to take a look at both Autosport International and the adjoining Pistonheads show.

First and foremost, we came across the dramatic Colin McCrae memorial stand.  This showcased a variety of his competition cars, from the white over blue Subaru Legacy through to the Imprezas.  There was also a touching tribute to him and his rallying during the live action show.

Not far away, old rivals Subaru and Mitsubishi were unveiling their new models, namely the Lancer Evo 10, and the new hatchback Impreza STi Type UK.  Subaru also had an impressive rally car display, with technicians doing a quick gearbox change just as if you were between stages at a WRC event.

The live action arena contained a plethora of high octane entertainment, with rally cars, formula fords and practically anything else that could manage to get some traction on the slippery show surface.

We also made our way to the Pistonheads event, which catered for our classic favourites.  BMW’s M division was well represented along with other notable icons – Porsche GT3, Skyline GTR, and even a mint condition Chevette!

A massive show, which we are most definitely looking forward to coming back to next year.
