Yet again the Club GTi lads and lasses pulled out all the stops to have this annual charity bash in aid of CLIC Sergeant (this is a charity which helps children with cancer and their families). However they weren’t alone in pulling all the stops as Denis Biggerstaff needed a turbo badly for his Impreza WRC after his recent Donegal outing and it looked like he may not make it but here he was with new turbo on and thrashing the life out of the car after son Stuart broke the turbo in mid morning so credit to Denis especially after blowing the engine in his metro at the last charity day. The main purpose of the rally car was to ballet off passenger runs along with many other amazing prizes and 1 of the marshals who won a passenger trip let it be auctioned off raising £100 for the charity which was very generous indeed.

James Logan and Adrian Hetherington were also out in respective rally prepared mk2 escorts and holy smokes sideways and fast wasn’t even the word for these 2 lads so a very well done to the pair of you as you kept the crowds and paying passengers entertained all day. To round off the rally cars Brian Quinn brought his Escort Cossie down and was going well all day and with Ronnie Brown selling his yellow 360 Ferrari he now has a Convertible model so yet again was taking passengers out for runs with all donations received going into the charity bucket.

The track day itself saw all the usual punters out in style and a lot of new faces on track also in varying machinery made it a day worth being at especially as the weather held out so well! To close i would like to announce that the club raised an unbelieveable total of £6000 pounds today which is more than last year and a real credit to all who gave so generously. The next club event is next Saturday 1st July @ Castlewellan and is the annual static show so see you all there.
