Dubshed has catapulted itself from humble beginnings to become the standout car show in Northern Ireland. The brand and the pulling power of the event means it attracts quite simply the best Volkswagen, Audi and Porsche cars in the UK and Ireland. The highly anticipated celebration of all things dub really does spoil us with sheer quality. The show has no boundaries, air cooled classics to re-imaging the 911. It’s all here.

The scale of the event is hard to explain in normal Northern Irish car show terms. Basically take most of the outdoor space around the King’s Hall, and the halls themselves and fill them with hundreds of cars that would quite easily be the best thing on display at every other car show going. The organisers, GTINI are meticulous about standards. The end result is an array of flawless paintwork and attention to detail.

Dubshed has grown to become a brand event, recognised Europe wide, and this is really something quite unique for the motoring community over here. When the ferries are full of modified cars heading to Belfast, and the owners forums are full of Dubshed threads, then it is something very special indeed.

As so many cars are head turners and because they cover such a wide range of marques, its hard and unfair to pick a favourite car. I mean, is a concours Mark 1 Polo better than an immaculate Caddy? They are all winners. That said, a car I kept coming back to was the jaw dropping BMW Z4. Impractical, yes. Mad camber? Covered. Form over function? Got it. Head turning, eye popping brilliance? Heck, yes. In droves.
