Robert Morgan took one step nearer to retaining his Downtown Radio N.I.Hillclimb title, with an emphatic win at Eagle’s Roack on Saturday. Running just outside track record pace the Greenisland driver guided his Pilbeam MP82 to a four second win over Gavin Millington’s Aurain with the Locost Hayabusa of Jimmy Dougan in third spot, just ahead of Jenny Kennedy’s Crossle 33F. Dougan’s run netted him yet another class record and keeps him firmly at the head of the Leaders title race, while other class records fell to Derek McNeill’s historic MG Midget and the BMW M3 of Conor Lavery, which also heads the Saloon standings. Morgan and Millington head the Championship tables, with the absent John Leinster still in third as the cars head to next weekends British Championship round at Craigantlet in the outskirts of Belfast.
