This year seen the 10th Anniversary of the 3 day event in the grounds of goodwood estate, which is a beautiful setting for such a massive event with top names from all over the world.

The hill climb competition, which takes place throughout the Festival weekend on a 1.16-mile course on parkland roads in the grounds of Goodwood House, is what everyone flocks to see. The Festival caters exclusively for the most significant cars in the history of International motor sport, such as famous Grand Prix chassis; successful Le Mans, Indy and CanAm cars; very historic rally and touring cars; plus some of the World’s most famous competition motorcycles, and also a good input of modern machinery.

The event seen Formula One, Le Mans legends, World rallying, The glamour of Indianapolis, Bergspyders and endurance road racers, Touring cars, Hot rods, salt flat racers, dragsters and Land Speed Record cars, CanAm, TransAm and NASCAR, and the historic racers all there for an amazing weekend

Top machinery seen – 3 Ford GT MK11’s, Ford Gt40, Ford Escort Twin Cam, RS200 Pikes peak, Capri RS Cologne, Mondeo BTCC, Jag XJ12 broadspeed, opel calibra V6 itc, Plymouth Barracuda with 1100BHP (does wheelies), Astra BTCC, BMW M3 GTR ALMS, Toyota Tacoma (900BHP of pure power), BAR Honda, Jordan-ford F1, Ferrari F1, Williams BMW F1, Mclaren F1, great selection of F1 cars from 1966 to 1988, and then the greats of the grp B rallying world including R5 Maxi Turbo Audi Quattro S1, Lancia Delta S4, then newer rally cars such as Impreza WRC & Focus WRC, the legends of Le mans where there in force also.

On show around the grounds of goodwood house was many exhibiters showing off their best machinery possible, these included Mercedes, Porsche, TVR, Lotus, Vauxhall, Ford (main sponsors of this years event), Ferrari, then Alpine had 3 demo cars with them and TOYO tyres had Jamie Shaw’s incredible TVR in all it’s glory and what a beautiful car that is!

Jenson Button, David Coulthard, Gwyndaf Evans, Allan McNish, Hannu Mikkola, Juan Pablo Montoya, Sir Stirling Moss, Petter Solberg, Sir Jackie Stewart, and Malcolm Wilson just a small number of the many famous names that competed in the event this year

So all in all I can say it is the best motor sport event I have ever been to in my life and all being well I will be back next year to see it all again and bring RMS yet another lot of pictures from it, I would highly recommend this event to everyone that has any sort of interest be it big or small in motor sport.
