As part of the annual Hillsborough Oyster Festival, there is a ‘Dream Rides’ day on the Sunday. Held again this year and supported by Hollybrook Cars, RPM and Momentum Motorsport, there was a huge turnout of exotic motoring machinery there to entertain the public.

The purpose of the event is simple – auction off passenger rides for charity (this year in aid of the Jill Todd Trust), and anyone who bids high enough can get a run in their dream car.

At today’s event there was no shortage of automotive flash including Ferrari 360s, I spotted Plum Tyndall in a 355, a 599, Astons and Maseratis along with some more hardcore tuned examples such as Andrew Mercer’s Supercharged Lotus Elise and Kenny Wylie’s competition Evo 6.

The auction winners got a run up the carriageway from the Sprucefield Park and Ride to Hillsborough roundabout (currently number one slipperiest roundabout in NI) and back again. I took a few people the short run in an M3, and couldn’t get over the amount of public who had parked up either side of the carriageway to get a glimpse of some of their favourite cars under full throttle.

A great day out and well done to all the supercar owners for helping out. Keep an eye on the RMS forum for details on the amount raised.

Thanks to Steve Hawthorne for the extra photos.
