Now for the fourth year running, the Ecclesville centre in Fintona hosted yet another modified and performance car show. Being one of the first major car shows of the 2006 calendar in Ireland it was as you expect, a huge success.

AJS Promotions ran the show with the usual blend of local modified and performance cars, club and website stands coupled with a live action arena outside. The RMS stand featured Bronk’s Saxo VTS, Campbell’s mint e30 325i sport, BBS Boy’s Ibiza Cupra and Nick Ryles’ Yaris T-sport. Andy Quinn also stepped in on the Sunday with his carbon clad Evo 8.

The other highlights of the main hall can be easily summed up by the top 6 cars of the show:

- Mark Luney’s R32 GTR Skyline Drift Car
– Andy Armstrong/Street Racer’s Orange Toyota MR2 Turbo with the veilside kit
– MGZR on the S44GAN stand
– MGZR on hydraulics at the Just Cruisin Stand
– Stunning black Peugeot 206CC on the Maxed NI stand
– Audi A3 on the NorthCoastCruisers stand

Outside, the live action arena was helped by the great weather. Steer From the Rear were in attendance with one of their new Nissan Sylvia S15s on show, Paul Conlan putting it through its paces, with Brandy back in his 300zx. I was out in my Skyline along with Alan McBride in his R33, and SidewaysBuff (Mark Luney) entertained the crowds with an E30 325i cabriolet.

It was great to see both inside and outside the show packed with people and I’d lost count of how many familiar faces I met during the weekend. I’ll be back for 2007.

Andy is the founding member of RMS, and when he's not following motoring events around the UK and Ireland he can be found on the track (sideways, having competed in top level drifting for a decade), or of course he'll be on the forum.
