The second IASCA event of the season was held at Sound In Motion in Campsie, L’Derry – which meant a good run for us up the Glenshane Pass. When I arrived, I met up with Pablo, and we discussed the wonders of Pheonix Gold amps with Paul Houston before chatting to the usual faces in the sound off scene. John Semple and myself were the subject of ridicule as Davy Smith kept us entertained throughout the day.

The big surprise of the day was when Mark Duffy hit 150.3dB with a single 15″ MTX sub, with rival Stuart Patrick close on his heels with 150.2dB from his Kicker Micra. Eyes on these two for the rest of the soundoff season!

I had my first chance to listen to Baron Bedi’s Smart Car. Baron has been cleaning up in the Amateur Ultimate Sound Quality class, and rightly so. The IASCA CD Pink Panther track sounded fantastically clear and pin-sharp.
