The Titanic Rally Sprint was set up as a fundraiser for production WRC champion Niall McShea from Eniskillen to enable him to do selected rounds of the 2005 WRC in a world rally spec car rather than the grpN in which in won last years events in. The event was sponsored by Meteor Electrical, the Northern Ireland Events Company, Auto Trader, KDM Hire, Titanic Quarter and was hosted by the Ulster Automobile Club and Schism Events so if it wasn’t for all these it wouldn’t have been possible for it all to happen and run as smoothly as it did. As part of the spectacle Billy Coleman, Gwyndaf Evans and Calum Duffy all took part in mk2 escorts while Creagh Concrete put together an international style super special bridge which the cars where getting an amazing amount of air on which was just breathtaking to watch.

Niall himself was out in Conor Mcmeels immaculate CMM Electrics sponsored mk2 in which he set a few fastest times in, though Charlie Donnelly held the fastest time until stage 3 so he really did set the pace, brother Eugene joint Irish Tarmac Champion 2004 was out in a G3 escort and seemed to be enjoying the event and also being in a RWD car rather than his Corolla WRC.

Entertainer of the day I’m sure will go to Paul Barrett in his Escort but Kieran O’Neill’s Opel Kadette was fairly getting chucked about whilst Camillus Bradley was giving it a dam good go being sideways most of the day also.
