Cars and Coffee at Down Royal

This was my first TSCC NI Cars and Coffee, that’s held semi-regularly at the Down Royal Racecourse near Lisburn, and despite the torrential rain there was a significant turnout of cars ranging from supercar to classic.  The event only lasts for a few hours on a Sunday morning and it was ideal to call in for a quick chat with other RMS members and other car owners, and to grab a coffee before getting on with the rest of the day.

N | Heading to Mosney show this Sunday otherwise I'd be there. Haven't been able to get to one yet for one reason or another. What sort of carrying on is happening? Limiters burnouts sort of thing?
Nice seeing a Lamborghini Aventador or a 911GT3 going for it on the short straight to the road...................... though terribly irresponsible:scream:

I'll stick my hand up. Gulity as charged. I gave it a squirt on the straight to the exit. Obviously from the comments this is causing an issue, also with people leaving the site onto the main road. Now i openly admit my midemeanour and it wont be repeated, but. There have been plenty of porsches and higher performance cars having a cheeky squirt on that straight coupled with Evos going up and down on antilag as if it was Portrush on easter Sunday, so if any blame needs to be proportioned, then it needs to be accross the board not just levelled at certain marques, era's of cars or individuals. I take full responsibility for my action and can re iterate it wont happen again but the organisers are missing a trick. Since christmas ( or even possibly before ) it has been mooted that this thing is " becoming a victim of its own success " so plenty of time for some preventative maintanence. A blanket ban.on speeding, a strict 5mph speed limit sign both ways on the entrance road and a sign to ask visitors to respect the neighbours whilst leaving the venue, coupled with a STRONG statement from the organisers via all of their outlets / web/ social media etc, all stuff that costs buttons and is common sense. Its obvious everyone loves cars that attend, its obvious the testoserone flows particularly with spectators egging on those leaving wether that be an Avenador or an Escort, some have more control than others. Rather than the whole thing go to [email protected], its time to be proactive not reactive.

No blame being aimed at any particular marques etc from me @56oval and I certainly hope it wasn't taken that way! Totally agree with what you are saying. I'd have been at it too if I was in any other car than my Suzuki last time! I saw on the event page that they are trying to do some at least of the steps you outlined.

Could they not have a private track out where you could give the car a bit of a rip!

Bump. Gave the jzx a quick wax today in prep. Anyone else going? Edit- just to confirm you don't need to book in or anything? Just turn up and park up?
