1987 Austin Mini City 1000 | £2,800
The time has come to sell on my trusty rally/autotest Mini. She served me well right through uni as a standard 1987 City up to being transformed into a Mk1 lookalike retro rally car. Time for someone else to get as much fun out of the wee motor as I did.
So the spec,
1987 Austin Mini City 1000
998 with Mini Spares stage 1 kit including centre exit Sportex exhaust
Electronic ignition module fitted to original distributor
Lucas Sports coil
Mk1 rear light conversion
Mk2 double skinned bootlid (to replace original lid I had signed by Rauno Aaltonen)
Bonnet modified to remove mk2/3 grille lip
Mini van / pickup grille
Cosmic alloy wheel arches (genuine ... not repros)
Mk1 switchgear (including steering column, floor mounted dip switch etc)
Works style dash panels
Centre clock conversion
6 point roll cage
Cobra bucket seats
I have removed the Cooper S discs I has fitted for another project but have swapped over twin leading shoes on so still has brakes.
MoT'd until April 2019 (will check exact date) but will need front brakes checked over and may need a track rod end.
Bodywork is in good condition barring couple wee age related bits ... bubbling under front and rear screen, o/s corner of boot floor and a bit on near side wing/front panel joint.
A-panels, cills etc in very good condition.
Rear valance is now bolt on, and modified to have a Formula Ford rainlamp frenched in and wired as rear fog.
All decals I had have been removed barring white door number square and I've kept a couple wee personal items (mirrors, wheels, spotlamps).
Good subframes and drivetrain.
Selling as a project.
Car is now back on original reg following transfer of my cherished plate.
