Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport Video Review

Back in 2015, Porsche decided to put decent power into their Cayman platform and give it the GT treatment, and in doing so created one of the best 3-pedal normally aspirated mid engined cars ever.  It eclipses all other ‘drivers cars’ I’ve driven to date, both on road and track.  

With a 380bhp flat-6 from a 991 generation 911, GT3 front suspension and bespoke rear suspension all tuned by Porsche’s GT motorsport department, and a sweet, if slightly long-geared 6-speed manual mated to a limited slip diff, its a driver’s dream.  Swollen arches to accommodate the wider track is the 981 generation Cayman growing up and looking the business, here in Guards Red coachwork.

Everything the 911 should be. The Cayman is just perfect. I bet its still bigger than a 70s era 911 but imo the 911 put on a serious middle age spread, its massive. If i had the budget to be into a modern era porsche, the Cayman would win hands down. Great review. As a moot point, funny how your more relaxed in front of the camera whilst driving than static walk round. Wired Petrol head ?
