I love them, although little to no mods and not in white. In standard form they still look amazing, even the ones without the whale tail.

porsche beards are the worst out there, to the point of being wholly unpleasant. .

Yep, I've been on the wrong end of some of them lol.

A guy I work with has an Sierra RS500 build number 2. Number 1 was written off for safety tests, making his the most original RS500 in existence. It was valued at £50,000+ a few years ago but they seem to have came down again. 'BONKERS' the famous (in Ford circles) collector was on the phone to him the other day but they couldn't come to an agreement.

On an unrelated note, has anyone else lost the love for cossies...I think they look so dated now, have not aged gracefully. Sierra better though

Go wash your mouth out. Or @Lyons will lynch you.

But in all seriousness, a properly mint one, on Std Wheels, looks the tits.

Too me, the escort was never a good looking car.

I can appreciate one when I see it due to their rarity but still just doesnt do it for me.

I'd have your arm off for that!! I don't think I'll ever lose lose for Cossies tbh, Sierra or Escort. Would love to own one some day (y) Still loads of them in England, rarely see them on our shores though (n) I was at the Classic Ford show at Santa Pod last year and couldn't believe just how many were there!!!

Lol, I'll let him off this time.

The Escort is very subjective, you either like it or you don't. And if you don't or never have, then theres no way you'll ever come round to liking them.

I can honestly say they are my 2nd favourite car after an F40, I've absolutely loved them since they were out and the days of Malcom Wilson, Sainz etc in the WRC.

Sadly to Mrs Lyons they're just an Escort (if not bad enough), with a stupid spoiler (nail in coffin).

My first car was a 3dr Mk5 Escort in Blue. Unfortunately that's where the similarities with a Cosworth ended :worried:

I suspect the Cossies starter motor would have had more power than the 1.3 push rod that lived under the bonnet of my machine.

Escort Cosworth is a car I'd love to own as well, my head tells me they are best left standard, but if I had one it would be hard for me to resist putting these wheels on:

That is sensational.

I'd like one in that colour, with those 18's, standard headlights and the whale tail removed.

It did have a rather sporty bolt on exhaust trim and RS rims though if I remember rightly :p

No whale tail??? Are you mad or are you mental!! lol That's was part of the attraction in the first place, it was pure rally slag, in your face back then! I really don't get this business of de-spoilering certain cars such as Cossies, Evo's, Scoobs.... they just look the same as the poverty spec models
