Who knows?
So that fat part of me won and I managed to get a reasonable deal on the Clio for this beauty.

It’s an ‘07 Vectra SRi CDTi with the much feared (for all the wrong reasons) 150bhp engine. It has a few wee niggles such as the heater only works on No.4 and the drivers window regulator appears to be broken (stupid things I didn’t check for when test driving the car) but thankfully they’re cheap and (relatively) easy fixes.

The car pulls like a train and I can already see either me loosing my licence or me getting fatter because of the cruise control.

But the biggest change for me is the space!! The car is huge inside!!

Anyway here are a few photos taken by the previous owner with a potato:

Do they not like to split manifolds too?

Great cars I always thought tbh, remap sees great improvements again and generally good on fuel too!!

Dash let’s them down a bit but they’re not as bad as folk make out!! Enjoy

They are surprisingly impressive with a remap or good tuning box, they make good figures easily for a 1.9.

I had no problems with mine, but my dads wasn't so good. Alternator's as said, brake calipers, and brake pipes are all common failures, but not expensive.

I would be confident that the fan issue is only a relay, the bad news is that it's usually caused by water leaking into the cabin. Remove the plastic cover over the bulkhead and see if there's a load of water in there. If there is the drains have blocked with crap.

The issue with the inlet manifolds IIRC is that the pre facelift cars had metal manifolds, but the facelift models were fitted with brittle plastic manifolds.

F40 box in the vectra's are good....its the astra m32 thats a piece of chocolate

During my ownership, as well as the above, the thermostat will likely get stuck open and brake lines (mine is the same age and needed them all changed for the mot).

Had an XP one of these when they 1st came out. Went well standard, as has been said above, a map really makes some difference too. Autotune Ballymena did mine, took it to almost 190 iirc

Best of luck with it.

The last of the Vectras had the m32. Not sure of the exact switchover. The Vectra c forum is good for info.

My dad had one of these that he bought damaged and repaired.
Great going motor - he never had any real issues that I recall.

true, but i believe it was the last few months of production - 2008

Aw crap don’t be telling me that! There’s a short MOT on this thing

fraid so. though my mechanic was VERY reasonable for the amount of work he did (dropping the back subframe!)

Not a bad motor these, I had the twin turbo version of this engine in my Saab and it went like stink lol eventually had to put an egr and an alternator in it but apart from that it was a good motor

I have one. Fly wheel does a bit of rattling. Get a partial blank for egr. Top intercooler hose prone to splitting and calipers can stick, but can be fixed easily enough. These are just the things that have happened mine. Cruise control is great lol
