‘‘3. No part of the garage is in front of the principal or side elevation of the original house.’’

Looks like a garage there would be along the front and side?

And presumably, would require access across a footpath?

I’d be using the back part of the garden as the entrance to the shed. So the front of the house would be the back of the shed
No one parks out the rear so Wouldn be an issue using that part as the entrance

You might not get a dropped kerb off the footpath at the back, but you could probably live with that. Or just make your own unofficial one, lol.

It still means the garage can’t protrude past the front wall of the house, which reduces the size of that grass to the side almost in half. Might still be big enough, hard to scale from above.

Nothing impressive, but started to try and clean up the mess we made last week. Had to stop to watch football and a few 🍺🍺

@mike150did you say who was doing yours? I must have missed it.

I think that's the rear elevation you've drawn the blue line on which would mean that clause wouldn't apply. Stand to be corrected.

Edit; Scrap that that is the front.

If it faces a road it doesn’t matter if it’s front or rear afaik
Best to get advise from BC imo, only takes one neighbour complaint and it has to come down :worried:

Going to enquire tomorrow
The place we’re i currently am is an agricultural shed, owner stores cattle over night an some days until they are being moved so my she’s can be very smelly at time and the dust from said shed is surreal

so ideally a garage at the house is ideal, rent free, on my doorstep literally.

I have actually thought about doing this for my workbench seat.

Would be an ideal thing to make if it's for your welding bench. Maybe a bit small 🤔 but you can always use bigger castors or cushion to offset it.

I’ve only ever had a car sized garage before, now having a bit of space to actually do things in is amazing, wish I’d gone bigger though but had to draw the line somewhere

Made a start on the lean to over easter, Gathered up some 127x76 UC and chopped it and plasmaed and drilled some fishplates out of some scrap plate.

Just waiting on the cladding arriving now, managed to reclaim some purlins from a local place that ill make do on this job.

Bit more amateur than most on here but the junk shed is nearly ready to go up, outline for wooded base built and 3 of the 8 or 9 posts are in. Just need to sort out some more 2x4 for joists and get 4 sheets of 8x4 ply sorted for the floor.

As yet the only outlay has been £200 for a secondhand 10x12 metal shed and 2 bags of post crete. Trying to reuse scrap timber from the old kids play house to keep the costs down.

Looking forward to getting this up and then I can finish the declutter of the garage.

Would you not be better building the shed and then setting it on timbers on a gravel base rather than risking those posts holding it up and then rotting?

Really just need it up an this is the easiest way of doing it, ideally in a year or so I'll be looking at other workspaces so want this as temporary as possible.

(Famous last words I'll still be saying that in 5 years and moaning that my posts were a bit half assed 😂😂😂😂😂)

Can anyone recommend someone to build a carport please?

My driveway is not a standard shape and size, so it wouldn't be a straight forward build/install.

Cheers,
Chris

O yeah........... 😎........... Its like having a really big new toy 😂

Doors still to fit but otherwise its up! I got the guys to put perspex on the front of the gables as while I'd like panels on the roof I don't want condensation so didn't risk it. Don't want someone looking in so I'll have to tint the perspex or hang something in front of it 🤔
