1.1 using vtr springs and possibly struts?

can this be done? will this make the ride quality any stiffer? or lower the car by anythin? can anything be used to help make the back end of my mk 2 1.1 saxo stiffer?

any help is greatly appricated!

Rear - new 23mm torsion bars and quality shocks.

Front - yes, it'll lower by 20mm in theory. Again shocks. If you mean using lowering springs for a vtr instead of a 1.1 - it'll lower it slightly less - thats all the difference there is.
