1.9 TDI Ticking problem

Morning all,

I have a 1.9 TDI 100BHP and it's making a ticking noise under load. *edit* It definitely sounds like a top-end tick rather than a bottom end if that makes sense.

You can start to feel it more as you move up the rev range

car is mapped, front mount, bigger downpipe etc, I've been told the cams are quite soft in these and/or the Injectors might be giving up?

I had a fair idea it could be that, Mechanic is playing hard to get will need to get someone a nosey over it.

Is the EGR blanked? Sometimes the blanking plate can bend and it causes what sounds like a ticking under load.

I'll get a look at that as it has a EGR delete but the newer style one which sandwhiches between the inlet - Automatic shutoff valve/
