Hi guys, here's a few shots of my m3 before I sell up for something a bit easier on thew wallet.

I've had this girl for 1.5 years now and have spent thousands on it, all as it needs now is a bit of body work to make it mint. I bought this knowing there was somthing up with it, It was imported into Ireland in 2004(ish) with 24K on it, a 3.0 engine, estroil blue paint and on a 96 plate. It was almost mint and drove like it should so I went ahead with the sale.

After a few months of owning it I decided to find out for sure what the history was. I soon found out it was on a Q plate in the UK and after tracing the engine number, I found the engine was from a crashed 95 coupe and was reshelled into a donor shell and given a full estroil blue bare shell respray. I found out it was bare shell after stripping the interior and everything and couldn't find the orgional colour. I only found out out it was boston green after I had a bump on the passenger side and found traces underneath the paint on both passengers doors.

The drive train, brakes, arms, shocks, etc are all m3 so it was done properly, and was maintained by Munsters BMW specialist (Bavarian Auto Technik: Home) with tonnes of receipts from 24k right up to 70k so I knew it had been looked after.

It drives like an m3, feels like an m3, everything about it is m3 and most importantly it goes like an m3.

I'll regret selling this but I've had enough of paying this poxy goverment the 1200euro road tax per year! At leasth the NCT (MOT) lasts 2 years down here!

Cheers lads, It's sitting at 78k miles on the clocks at the moment and from what I can figure out from the history in Ireland and bmw for giving me some indication of uk history I think this is correct.

I'll be looking for 2.5k euro which is a bargin IMO but simply because the bodywork needs some work, arches are all good, but there is some rust starting on the bottom of the doors, edges of bonnet, boot etc. It could ideally do with a good 3/4 respray.

Most m3's (even buckets) down here are making 4k+ at the moment, but considering everything and that this is a conversion I'll stick to the price I have in my head.

HPI came back totally clear, no history of anything. The only real clue is that it was on a Q plate after checking the chassis number with bmw I found out the shell is from a 318is and the engine is from a different 3.0 coupe.

Even on a Q plate the HPI check never said why and DVLA won't tell me either. They only say it might have been because it was re-registered as a kit car after the conversion.

Q plate is usually a mad/unknown identity so maybe just because it was reshelled it went on a Q. Could be recovered after being stolen with a cloned id and no way of establishing the original identity or somesuch.

Either way a cheap car. Make a nice track car at that price :p

My mechanic here in Limerick is thinking of buying it off me, he knows how much sweat and tears he's put into it over the last year or so, lol

I'm pretty sure I could break it for more than the price of the car, but I just don't have the garage space. I was also thinking about buying another fresh e36 compact and putting the engine etc into that, but again no space = no project.

Yea man, been quiet! That 325i poped up on donedeal.ie a few months ago down in Cork looking a little worse for wear. Looked like it had been around the cones a few times.

You know you want to, just sell the wife :p :innocent:

if its from portadown i would stay away from it, BUCKET is the word and alot more than just a blown headgasket is wrong with it.

if its not the one im thinking of it could still be good.

any way good luck with the sale slinky, sad to see it go, but im sure you will get something nice after this.
