Ok So after recently getting my mk2 escort back the oldskool ford Love affair has been getting stronger . Anyhow to cut a long story short I was talking with Andy Harris about doing me a head for the mk2 . Now the Harris family are gods in the escort tuning world and being into drag racing I’ve followed Andy’s mental quick 10second NA mk1 escort with great interest so when he offered me a steel streetcar version of his race car I couldn’t say yes quick enough even though it meant selling the mustang to raise the money . To even get a Harris engine there’s a 6 month wait to get your name on the list so to get the chance to buy a full car that was totally mint and had a stunning unwelded shell with a brand new Full Harris 2.1 pinto with Dyno sheet to prove 220bhp complete with new 48 Weber’s , MSD ignition , new suspension , Wilwood brakes, new Quaife LSD and shafts etc and all set up the same as his drag car including the same lightweight force racing split rims I just fell in love with it . The thing is mental fun to drive and night and day difference to the pinto in the mk2 . This thing revs to 8800rpm and just feels insane .

Holy. Feck. That revs like a demon. Loved the idea of a Harris pinto and used to spend loads of time reading Retro Ford and all the stories of Ron and racing V8 Zephyrs and the like. Legends.
