I sold my bobber last year and took a notion to build a cafe scrambler. I saw this for sale near crumlin so went for a nosey and brought it home. These are pretty bullet proof with the only real thing causing a problem being the splines on the drive shaft. If they aren’t split and greased when changing tyres and servicing they wear. This was the case with this bike but the previous owner had fitted a new one as he had just done a tour of Scotland on it.
I meant to get tore into it and have it ready for the summer but as usual time is hard come by. I had ordered new clocks, headlight and seat for it but they have been sitting in the garage for months. I went out a ride on it this morning seeing as it was nice and the wife and kid were away all day so took a notion and got stuck into it
The previous owner was prepared for any occasion
Two hours later
Fitted the seat I’d bought but it’s too narrow and not long enough. Must have been made for a 125 or something small
Stuck the headlight on temporarily . Need to lower it down the forks more
Then I hit the web and bought continental tkc scrambler Tyres
I think the next order will be a set of these scrambler type handlebars
I think I’m going to stick with the silver tank and black frame
