I sold my bobber last year and took a notion to build a cafe scrambler. I saw this for sale near crumlin so went for a nosey and brought it home. These are pretty bullet proof with the only real thing causing a problem being the splines on the drive shaft. If they aren’t split and greased when changing tyres and servicing they wear. This was the case with this bike but the previous owner had fitted a new one as he had just done a tour of Scotland on it.

I meant to get tore into it and have it ready for the summer but as usual time is hard come by. I had ordered new clocks, headlight and seat for it but they have been sitting in the garage for months. I went out a ride on it this morning seeing as it was nice and the wife and kid were away all day so took a notion and got stuck into it

The previous owner was prepared for any occasion

Fitted the seat I’d bought but it’s too narrow and not long enough. Must have been made for a 125 or something small

Stuck the headlight on temporarily . Need to lower it down the forks more

Then I hit the web and bought continental tkc scrambler Tyres

I think the next order will be a set of these scrambler type handlebars

I think I’m going to stick with the silver tank and black frame

Fantastic. Been following these builds on bike exif. Estimated build time?

Hoping to have it done for mid may.
There’s really not much to it bar a wee bit of cutting and welding the back end. The Wiring should be simple enough.

Knobblies, scrambler handle bars and front mud guard arrived. Can’t seem to find a seat in the shape and dimensions I want. Having notions of making it with a floating single seat

So I measured up and cut the back end off.
Removed the foot rests and original exhaust. Just need to figure what to do with the back end . I might make up the seat shape I want out of expanding foam then give it to someone to make .

I ordered an exhaust end too. I’ll need to get it welded up and decide where exactly to place it

I’m now thinking everything black black black. But maybe do a deep burgundy red leather seat

I like what you're doing so far.

One of those bikes I've fancied for a project. I'd been saving ideas from Pinterest and spotted this one; not my favourite but if you intend to keep the original tank, it's an idea about how to hide the ugly bit at the lower front edge. Using a number board or some kind of small panel to hide it.
And burgundy seat with silver and black would be good.

Hi all
I got made an offer for it I couldn't refuse so I let it go.
Bought a 2018 Ducati scrambler classic instead
