This thing looks class in that colour and those wheels, new wheels will be even better.

That bootlid mod seems to be a thing in the Netherlands, there was an outfit that did them for Alfa 155's there that was frightening money. Savali was their name after a quick google..

Awesome! This bootlid seemed to be offered as a bit that included an 8 series front end too, I'll not put photos of the front end in as it's offensive to the eyes!

Can you make an e32 one for me while your at it lol
That will be cool, something different
Hah, not sure how successful this will be and could well run out of patience with it!

The new wheels are at least not at sea anymore and are getting tyres taken off and checked over before finally being sent to me. I'm not usually overly impatient but itd be nice to have them soon!

In the meantime ive bought another pair of front calipers for it. 4 pots this time from modern 3 / 4 series. Seem to be a handy enough swap so will hopefully get them put on soon enough, once I get the discs, pads etc for them. Only went for the normal ones at the minute as the m performance upgrade ones run a 370/380mm disc compared to the 340mm one on these, will see how I get on with these and maybe look to further upgrade down the line. I still also have the 6 pot BMW performance fronts off a 135i, not sure what the plan is for them, we shall see!

2nd set of wheels have arrived. Thankfully they dont look like they need to be split and refurbed, just a wee bit of kerb rash to fix on the lips.

My luck with winging wheel specs has almost bitten me this time, going to have to run a bit of a spacer to clear the shocks front and back, but should be able to run essentially a wider version of the tyres I have on the Schnitzers, so thats a relief.

Must say really like the quality of the wheels, really are nice and light but some very nice machine work on them. They have never been split or painted by the looks of them and have original stickers on the barrels etc. Bit of working out to do for spacers now!

Got the rear wheel tyres on, went for Michelin pilot sports. Have a pair on order for the front.

Rear AC Schnitzer left, rear Work right, little bit wider.

Waiting for proper spacers to arrive for the rear, but put together some I had to test fit.

Tight squeeze but they fit at least.

Front tyres arrived and fitted today. Rude not to get them on. Looking forward to seeing it outside in daylight.

They are a snug fit to say the least. Actually make the schnitzers look small!

Ignore the wheel bolt / wheel nut situation, they all need to be replaced as theyre a bit tired looking.

One of my favourite cars on here. Attention to detail has been great.

My one wish is to see something mental under the hood ... Stupid probably but would love to see an E46 M3 engine or an E90 V8 ... Wishful thinking I know lol

Thanks!

I would love to too, but for the cost of getting something like that and the inevitable rebuild it just doesnt stack up. If I was to win some money I'd probably look into a S85.

There is a turbo and turbo manifold sitting for it though. Just need to get my golf done before I get stuck into this.

Cool car .... will be even better when you get the turbo on. Really is an outstanding project.

Second set of wheels on and some photos before taking them off and over to KLC to get split and the dishes polished and some curb rash fixed.

Hoping to get over to Players Classic at Goodwood in June so will be putting a bit of time getting this up to scratch as it has been neglected while I've been pushing the golf on.

Rebuild kit is on the way for the brembo front calipers so will need to split those and get them painted. Have got pads and discs sitting ready to go.
