For sale is our 1997 BMW 328i Wide-Arched Test/Track Car.
This E36 Coupe was first registered in summer 1997 with a 2.5 engine but we fitted it a year ago with a Dual Vanos 2.8 engine. The conversion is well carried out and everything works as it should. The M52tuB28 engine makes 193bhp standard, with plenty of scope for more. It is also fitted with a remapped ECU with raised rev limit.
The car drives extremely well with the castor and toe professionally set up. The ZF 5-speed manual transmission is smooth, and delivers the power to a short ratio rear differential meaning acceleration is rapid. The exhaust is a custom made twin pipe system with no silencers, but retaining the catalytic converters so it remains legal.
The interior is the original black trim with the addition of black Sport leather, and a deep dish racing type steering wheel is installed.
On the outside, the car has been fitted with wide-arch over-fenders, blended in rather than riveted on as normally seen. There are custom LTW-inspired graphics applied. It has genuine Sport/M3 bumpers and a set of DTM replica mirrors. The lightweight Azev racing wheels have 205/50/17 tyres fitted, with decent tread.
The car has MOT until 15th August 2019, and drives very well indeed. The price is £2,495. Three months driveline warranty is included.
