We are excited to bring you this rare BMW E39 model 540i Sport with manual transmission. These cars are getting collectible now, and the manual particularly sought after. This example was manufactured in 2000 and comes in Titan Silver with black electric Sport leather interior.

The car drives very well indeed. There are no Vanos noises or rattles from the 286bhp 4.4 V8, and there is a strong service history for the car. Currently the mileage sits at 185k, so obviously this car has been enjoyed, by it's three previous enthusiast owners. The gearbox has no crunching, and the clutch is good. About three years ago, this 540i was fitted with an M5 limited slip differential and driveshafts, sourced from us at that time. This is understandably very rare and desirable, and makes this a real drivers car. The exhaust has been upgraded to a Powerflow stainless steel cat-back, and all the standard M-technik Sport suspension is in place and doing its job well.
The exterior is in great shape. The paintwork is tidy, and there are no dents. There are a couple of innocuous rust bubbles which are hard to spot, one at the top of the OS sill and one on the OS C pillar. The front bumper has a couple of scuffs, but we intend to have that repainted prior to delivery. These are all very minor, and the car really is in just great unrestored condition. The wheels are replicas of the Style 65 alloy wheel as fitted to the M%, and they were refurbished around a year ago in anthracite grey. They are all shod with Continental ContiSport tyres with around 6mm tread.

Inside the cabin is also in good order, with just a little bit of outer bolster wear on the drivers seat, however it is not ripped. The seat electric and memory functions all work as they should, as does the electrically adjustable steering column. The black Sport headlining is tight, with no sagging, and the carpets are nice and clean, as are the factory overmats. The instruments and switches all work, but the pixels on the radio and cluster are starting to drop out - they are still usable, but we would like to have that sorted in time for sale also as it isn't a major repair. The climate control works well, and the car has working cupholders, and a Motorola cell-phone in the centre console. All the electric windows and mirrors and remote locking work.
