Just under 2 years ago I sold both my bikes to buy the Boxster, I think largely I've thought it was a good move but I still got the urge for a bike from time to time..... then recently my dad said he was thinking of selling this SV650. I actually got this bike for my 18th birthday (I'm 31 now), its been in my dads care for quite a while now, I don't think Ive owned it for about 9 years. I'm absolutely buzzing to have it back.

Dodgy photos of it for sale in T7 Honda Ballymena, then an even worse photo of me taking it out for the first spin before Id bought myself proper matching bike gear

With no insurance/MOT/Tax it was trailered back to the house, I haven't really decided what its long term storage will be as the Porsche takes up pretty much the entire garage but Ill worry about that another day. Its been wedged into the front for this horrific snow/rain/frozen spell we are having at the minute though.

As it arrived

This will have to do for now! Just a bit of an annoyance if I want the car out!

First job was to get rid of all the dodgy stickers I put on it when I was 18, as 18 year old me has different taste in decals than 31 year old me.

Next up was to un-touring the rear. The box is insanely useful though so it will certainly be staying, luckily only 4 bolts to take it on/off. Think it looks way better with the cowl

Next up, the brakes are in a sorry, sorry state, all of them are seized, pulled them all off the bike and they are just horrific. Pulled apart, new rebuild kits ordered for all 3 callipers

Sadly the rear piston looks like it’s past it’s best, fronts aren’t perfect but they aren’t anywhere near as pitted as the rear

I had the previous gen SV65OS. I thought it was a great bike so sure this is even better. I still prefer the style of the older ones but I rarely seen any around anymore or up for sale.

Mine was so loud with an a K&N filter upgrade and aftermarket exhaust, Couldn't believe how much louder an after market filter made it even before the exhaust.

I'm sure you will get loads of enjoyment from this.
