Some more random stuff.
New pads fitted front and rear. Will bed them in around July. Callipers getting a lick of paint but only got first coat on so will update later.

needed to get a replacement fuel filler pipe as mine had split. Glued the little seals on and gave everything a good clean with the old favourite oven cleaner.

Second coat. Hammerite is a pain. Runs so easy so you need to go light. One more I think.

Getting loads of time to tinker!! I cut out the headrests that sit behind the seats (actually done the drivers one last year to get the seat tilted back and increase headroom which was a problem with a helmet on). This gives a lot more rear visibility and they serve no real purpose. The Elise doesn’t have them so clearly not a safety requirement.

Mine cut out and ready for a lick of paint. The original powder coating had flaked off

having fun with the floor too. Pitting a good bit so cleaning them up to be painted and protected.

people couldnt get past the vauxhall badge in the end. which is a shame as if there hadnt been a vx220 there would be no elise/exige/evora etc

Didn't know there were so few made either. But I guess it always was a specialist car next to the Lotus. Which is already a specialist car, lol.

Nope, normal mode. InPrivate mode is only used for certain things

While the clam is off I also fixed a wee crack in the rear arch just behind the intake scoops. Forgot to pic it after the fibreglassing doh

Also sprayed up the very tatty cup holder that sits in between the seats along the rear bulkhead. Used Audi phantom black which came out really well

And lastly set of oem turbo wheels away to Cobra customs for refurbishment. Going bright silver as these will be my "good wheels". They will swap over the tyres from my current wheels too

Couple of wee jobs while the clam is off. At both sill pockets the fibreglass was cracked so got the fibreglass mat out and got to it. Few random pics too. Still waiting on the manifold.

Those studs look good, are they copper plated steel or pure copper? Looking to get a manifold for the MX5 and will likely need new studs too.
Would appreciate a link or some more info please.

Any tips for painting with tins @pablo

I'm planning on tidying up a few bits of the mini and everytime I paint anything with tins it's a horrendous job, yours always looks great lol
