Latest project is to clean this up and return to former glory.

Plans are for a full service, tidy up so cosmetic damage and a deep clean.

Oil and filter change with hifilro filter and some motul fully syntehic oil. I also got a new magnetic sump plug.

The chain was well worn at at the limit so it will be replaced with a new DID 530vmx and gold chain with new renthal superlight sprockets. Changing the ratio while I'm at it and going - 1 on the front and +2 on the rear.

Great bike those. One of the best blades imo.Doesn't look like it needs much...

This is my 3rd one now, I love them. All it needs is a few cosmetic parts to tidy it up, a good clean and a full service.

One of the first jobs was to remove the rear grab rail that looked like it was on for new judging by the grime around it

Before and after with a good clean

Lovely stuff! There must be a good bit of satisfaction from cleaning that up

Best thing you can do when you're in there is to strip and grease the rear shock linkage.

Some more cleaning today, hate putting new sprockets and a chain on a dirty bike.

Cleaned in around the front sprocket and replaced the cushion drive 16t, with a JT steel 15t. It was an absolute pig to clean, but got there in the end.

Unreal job you’ve done on this so far mate, mad how dirty a bike can get! Will be class when you’ve finished!

Hope the pads stop you alright, just watch them the first few pulls of the lever lol

I actually have a post it on the Dash to remind me, it was one of the first jobs so its a certainty I would forget about them.

Nice. Looking forward to some pics of it all finished. What chain lube do you use?

I use that stuff Lee, seems decent and doesn't flick too much off

Might give it a try. I use Wurth high performance dry lube. Theres zero fling but it makes the chain look a bit grubby. And the rollers look polished after you've been caught out in bad weather.

That wurth lube is great too, but I know exaclty what you mean about looking grubby.

Some overnight parts from Japan/North Wales. The original rhs panel was damaged and replaced with a Chinese one which was a different colour and design. I wanted to change this but a new one was a whopping ÂŁ450 from honda. I managed to lift this one for ÂŁ150, he even threw in a seat cover which was a nice surprise. Part of the decal is lifting slightly so I'll see if there is a way to fix it, but regardless a great improvement.

So I had been looking for a genuine honda seat cowl for the hrc, these are a fortune from honda ÂŁ240 I believe, but are discontinued. Plenty of cheap Chinese ones available but the fitment is terrible and the paint is never a good match. This one came up on ebay and I snapped it up for ÂŁ40 which is a bargain. It had a few scratches but I bought with the intention of painting it. I rubbed it down with some 2000 grit and a bit of polish and it came up OK, there is still one noticeable mark at the back but it presentable until its painted.
