Picked this up a while ago and been getting it up to standard.

Must say I much prefer the DCT to the manual in these.

So far it’s been

Clean and cleaned and cleaned.
Oil Service (Castrol Supercar 10w60) Mahle filter and new BMW sump plugs.
Mahle air filter.
Mahle Thermostat.
Mahle Cabin Microfilters.
Coolant change with BMW Coolant.
New genuine bmw front under covers x 3
New genuine bmw mats.
New genuine bmw rear bmw emblem.
New 19” Strom M359 Wheels from CM Wheels with the correct offset (same as genuine)
GTS gearbox software.

Things to do -

Rear diff oil service
DCT Oil Service
Spark plugs
Exhaust mod (Maybe)
Springs and spacers (Maybe)
GTS V1 front splitter (Watch this space)

Really enjoying the E92, Rod bearings have been replaced with ACL bearings and BMW Bolts, Throttle actuators are genuine BMW replaced in 2012 (Bank 1) and 2013 (Bank 2) Suspension is standard for now although I do have Eibach springs and shaved mounts along with e36 M3 bump stops waiting to go in but I really like how the car drives for now. It also came with a Genuine BMW high kick rear spoiler :grinning:

thats really tidy, the manual in them is garbage so nice choice!

always loved the details on the black one though, this one doesnt look like it needs much tinkering

So the M3 got some LOWS last week in the form of the Eibach Pro kit, some shaved top mounts (from Mod-Stock very good service) and E36 M3 bump stops.

Also completed LSD fluid change using Castrol Syntrax 75w 140 (1.5 Litres) and Red Line FM booster (half bottle) Also new drain and fill plugs from BMW.

Happy with that, Going to leave it as is for now and not bother with the 12mm spacers all round as it has the correct offsets, no rubbing and with the eibachs sits a little lower than the comp pack M3.

Next ill need to code in the comp pack EDC and DSC to compliment the lower ride height.

Also rebuilt both rear calipers as the off side was slightly sticky. No pics of that as pushed for time although I used a kit from Frentech, great service and next day delivery (y)

Lovely!

Any thoughts on LCi tail lights? Always freshen up the rear.

I have considered it and also considered it on past E92 M3s but I kinda like the pre LCi rear lights.

While on the subject I also removed the LED H8 halo lights (wasnt impressed with the quality) from the headlights and replaced with the standard items as I prefer the amber glow :grinning:

Been chasing an oil leak for a while and turns out it was coming from the valve covers, they are made of magnesium and over time the coating on the covers starts to come off which causes leaks at the oil filler cap, spark plug tubes and the gasket.

I removed the covers and sent them to Custom Finish Ni to be chemically stripped, then off to Autoradz Lisburn for glass hydro blasting before powder coating by Custom Finish Ni. I really like the wrinkle red finish on the Type R Honda valve covers so we went with that.

Turned out really well

2 x New genuine BMW valve cover gaskets
24 x New genuine BMW bolts
8 x New genuine BMW spark plug tubes

BMW dont sell the rubber grommet on the valve cover bolts separately so we need to but the bolt with the grommet installed.

New Gasket and spark tubes installed, cam sensors back in, oil separators cleaned and reinstalled.
