After selling my last Saab 9-3, I was on search for a car which better suited me for taking the girlfriend and son (who was 3 at the time) about. Wanted something bigger than the Saab, so that ruled A4s, 3 series kinda stuff out. Looked at few different things. But always came to either an A6 or else a 5 series, weighed them up against each other and couldn’t really choose between them. The deciding factor was based on price, with the Audi working out cheaper for the same kind of spec.

So the more I searched and looked into them, there was a world of different specs available. I was in no real panic as I had a car to run about in. Came across this in an auction in England, well spec’d and sensible Miles and at a fair price.

Basic run down:

2014
48,000 miles
Full leather (not heated😔)
Sat nav
Usual extras or media and entertainment.

I was happy driving as it was, very comfy, loads of room for everyone and easy to run, so it ticked all the boxes. I said I wasn’t going todo anything to it, but joined a Audi forum and started to see modified ones and that was the downward spiral from that.

First to come was a set of 20” Audi segment wheels which were a nice change, also got the chrome on the front grille done black.

After this coil overs and a front splitter, lip spoiler and wind deflectors were sourced

thanks lad, I have it near 4 years and couldn’t fault it at all, you may want to stop reading here then lol

got bored of this look after a while so wanted to change it up a bit,

next came an rs6 style grille, 20” TTRS wheels, roof spoiler (wasn’t keen after it was fitted), along with a 3.0 rear diffuser and twin pipes with miltek style tips

I loved my A6 when I had it. Did a have a few clutch / flywheel problems which kind of soured the experience but aside from that it was my favourite car I’ve owned. Yours looks seriously well kept. I’ve noticed it for sale recently what’s next?

Still think these are such a good looking car and considered another recently.

Ours was the 3.0L, not sure what the manual would be like?

not sure what’s coming next, this is the longest I have kept a car which is a good sign lol

this one is just the 2.0, looking back now I should have waited and went for a 3.0 biturbo one.
when I bought this there wasn’t too many about the roads here, but every second car is one now lol

Love the stance in those pics, the 20" rotors suit it very well.

thanks Ben 😁

Once again got bored of this look, so next update is a bit bigger than the rest.

started looking into airbags and hydro weighing up which would be better, but overall air seems to be much more useable (especially on our smooth roads 🙄)

so got in touch with Arezair, who answered any questions I had and gave me a lot of info. So he ordered in the kit and the car was left with him to work some magic (could have tackled it myself, but with a new kit wanted to make sure it was done correctly to cover warranty if needed). The car was ready in a few days, a real great turnaround and a total pleasure to deal with as well, would highly recommend him.
But enough small talk here is some photos, a simple install too, which allows me to have full use of the boot space which is great 😁

Had a mini shoot then with a local photographer, who done a great job. My young lad also approves of the air 😎

yeah just one compressor, it’s not too bad being honest, usually when leaving a show by the time I have started it and went out to clip the front numper plate on the air is built up.

few photos from numerous shows last year and a few random ones

Car looks well Neil. Air wouldn’t be my thing at all but it suits it much better than some other motors.

We were thinking about one of these A6’s as the ‘good’ car. What are they like?

Im not a fan of the air but love everything else! If it was mine your static height would suit me perfect!

Some difference from when you bought it anyway!

They are a decent car, I will have it 4 years in May, and one sensor in the exhaust was changed just after I got it. Plenty of room, nice to drive, easy enough on fuel, ticks all the boxes for me.

@Boydie - it was a notion I have had to have a car good enough to warrant spending the money on air. I did like the previous setup, another factor was not many of these had air when I done this, so it was to be different,

@warren - yeah been a fair change in how it looked when it came here.

After show season last year I decided to change the look again, had been seeing a few os these in England with the xenonzuk conversion kits on them and it makes them a bit more ‘mean’ looking I think ?

so I got the bumper, I got it with no grille as they can’t sell one with the Audi badge on it for copyright reasons, so got a facelift grille on eBay for an absolute bargain
The rear diffuser was also purchased which takes some modifying to fit the s-line bumper
Then got a maxton design lip kit to finish it off

with all these this going on I came to choosing wheels, which was hard to narrow down as there was so many options but finally decided on a set of Rotiform OZRs 20x10 which I wasn’t even sure they would fit, but I haven’t been beat before getting wheels to sit well, lucky enough they bolted on and sat perfectly 👌

anyway here’s the photos of the transformation

As some of you may have seen the car is currently for sale, a change in circumstances here means it has to go 😔 so won’t get to show it after doing all the work. But hey that’s life. The wheels are sold so it will be staying on the TTRS wheels.
