Long story short, I sold my GTi earlier in the year to save for a wedding and with my fiancé having no guaranteed income being a teacher, it was the sensible option. I was actually proud of myself for taking that decision...lol

As of two weeks ago she got offered a post at school, so I thought the sensible option was to buy another sensible car...ahem...

Following on from the "golf R around Ards thread"...this happened.

Just had too book it in to get the wheel bearing done, it was noted but not done for whatever reason before I picked it up!
at least its getting sorted soon.

I don't think theres too much in the way of extras with it, that im aware of to be honest.

Just DSG, standard interior, 18s.
I would ideally like to upgrade the head unit but it's silly money unless I can find it in bits, I know @Lyons has a screen that would do but seemingly finding the brain is difficult.

They are fantastic cars and I think they’re better looking in 3 door (5 door is easier to get in and out of in tighter spaces though). I loved my Golf R, great all rounder and quick

I agree, I will always try to have a 3 door car. If and when childer come along I'll take one for the team and put them in the back myself if needs be lol

Its going for a wheel bearing this week too, want done before I got it for whatever reason so it was fairly obvious when the rumbling started at carriageway speeds.

And I managed to steal a DTUK box from eBay at about 30% of the RRP, so that's pleasing.

Aye, quoted 900 quid for the full package. I'd sooner keep an eye out for the alpine unit that's a direct fit

There's lots on eBay but I'd have 0 clue who could code it and if it would be compatible etc

@Darren91 or @pobmk4 should be able to keep you right. Darren and Paul have done a number of retrofits on vag vehicles.
