Bought a new addition to add to the fleet – a Miami blue 205 GTi. I spotted this wee beauty on the net, and wasn’t really that interested (I was supposed to be looking out for a diesel runabout), but as it was close by, I thought I might as well go and look at it. Karlos picked me up on Saturday and off we went. After a poke around and good thorough test drive, we quickly realised that this was a very tight and well looked after example and not the usual clapped out rubbish that you see so often. I had to buy it!

Anyway, the spec:

· 1990 Peugeot 205 1.6 GTi
· One of only 300 original limited edition Miami blue 1.6 GTi’s (Miami was a strictly limited colour, before it became an option)
· full grey leather interior and grey carpets (instead of red)
· Totally standard apart from a quickshift
· Full service history inc. all original manuals, bill of sale and old MOTs

No immediate plans for it, apart from a real good clean and polish. Better pictures soon too.

My Sorrento Mi16 was one of the 300 1.9 LTd Editions. I thought even the 1.6 Ltds were fitted with the 1.9 rims and clear indicators though?

Looks like it needs a bit of TLC, but nice buy, good luck with it. :grinning:

Nope. All special edition 1.6's come with the 14" rims and the special edition 1.9's come with the 15" rims. Both come with orange indicators.

Thanks all. Totally different driving experience from the 'Four. Really direct and dare I say it, more involving. Best 205 I have driven.

A good wash, polish and an attack of Autoglym 'bumper snot' should see it right. The interior hardly has a broken spot on it. Coin tray is knackered though! What's this grey carpeted console all about?

Looks well health to drive, do u still miss mavis ??
Was looking for a diesel, only went to look at this because it was close by. Didn't even take money with me. Loved it and had to buy it. Nor planned at all.

Mavis (my derv 106) has come back from the dead. I sold her for scrap in Sept. '06 when it failed MOT, as the back axel was siezed solid. Last time I was home though, she was sitting on the side of the road in Swatragh

As she is one of the limited editions, plus the last owner has stuck nice expensive and sticky Yokohama C-drives on her, I was going to keep the original wheels on her. But after seeing Lord Chris's car (looking mighty well) on Speedlines, I am sorely tempted to lower and add rims...

Handels not too bad, lift off oversteer a bit of a problem., lol espically round roundabouts, but she needs lowered for better handeling, but superb standard 205, absolutely amazing, and lots of service history, everything from new, a full folder!!

The centre console which surrounds the gearstick is trimmed with grey carpet rather than red. Grey ones are obviously very rare since they were only in Ltd editions like ours. Coin trays alwaus break, its gospel with GTis, its the bit that on the bootom where the pin goes into splits slightly. Have a coin tray here, but its in Phase 2 black.

on Speedlines, I am sorely tempted to lower and add rims...
sell ya set of these ;)

Looks very nice indeed, will it ever see the sunny shores of Norn Iron?

@ Seanbob ; You'll have to sell the Sierra and buy a Pug to keep up with the rest of the RMS London Branch
