309 gti 16

[309gti16]

Hi all, I've just purchased a black 309 gti 16v. Been off the road a while. It's an original left hand drive car.
I was told it was an original car imported by Peugeot motor company. It's one of only 6 that was imported. There are only 4 left in uk I am told, the other three are owned by one gent.
I am looking for the clips to attach the door trims back on, and a contact for the back axle.
Got it firing today, but needs fuel pump.
Would appreciate any contacts

Contact for back axle if in a N.ireland for a rebuild would be Joseph Mc mullan. If you looking a new tube and painted job then you’ll need to go to England - Andy Williams/ axles by stef etc they are all on Facebook and I can help you make contact

Be prepared to pay a ransom for a fuel pump!
I can source you one and the clips off a mate of mine in England he has a Miami gti16 also, along with around 15 other 309s incase you need any info! Lol

For a fuel pump I fitted a Walbro one to one of my 205 GTi’s that failed last year. It was fiddly to do but not too hard a job. I’m nearly sure the fuel pumps are all the same for 309/205 GTi’s unless someone else knows otherwise. Mine was about £60 for the part.

Can you not buy the bosch pump then transfer the plastic wiring plug/housing over from the old pump?

I'd to do similar for pump for the mk2 golf 16v and saved about £100 doing it that way

@Gambit not too sure but if you could I’d imagine the chap I get the info off would have said. Good question though but I don’t think so as a few members on group have sourced pumps recently and paid through the nose.

Hi All, just found a pump in Moscow, just waiting for postage to be opened back up. It's now being restored, mechanicals first. May need a front bumper, will need to be tidy if you know of any? Also performance exhaust? Thanks Stu

I'd still be intrigued at knowing the bare bosch pump number stamped into the actual casing and I'll cross check that with one I got for the mk2

What's the issue as such? Bound to be someone that knows someone that can sort it!

It really pains me that I don't own a 205 or a 309...one day! Cane close to buying one many times, but even 15+ years ago they were dog rough!

@309gti16 this is what I mean. This is original golf 16v pump with bosch part number on green sticker. But that's for the pump complete with plastic fitting on top.

The pump itself has a different part number again and I was able to get one of those for buttons compared to pump and fitting. Fittings just swap over

you do need to do a bit of digging for part numbers etc to make sure your getting the correct thing but they have a lot of stuff that people have difficulty finding.
