Simple halogen conversion for the headlights works wonders. No idea if later Minis had them as standard, but certainly early original headlights were diabolical.
I had my mini in early 80โ€™s and most headlights were crap back then ๐Ÿ˜‚

Good luck with the build Pete, i don`t envy you.... When i had my silver Mini in the early 80`s it spent more time off the road getting the head skimmed to keep it right.
I will enjoy someone else doing the work.
There was a chap from Larne direction in the last place I was working until March there had a silver special with a 1480cc stroker engine in it. Completely standard looking too, class.

They were very well finished for a Mini. When mine was running right it went very well.
Mine used to carry 4 windsurfers and masts on the roof with all the sails and stuff in the car.

Finally got round to finishing my taillights.

Next up ghetto repaint with rattle cans once I can get down to @Woodcutter to get paint colour scanned. Going to get rid of that horrible exhaust and back to a nice side exit.

Working away at fixing loads of previous wiring bodges from previous owners.

Fan belt squealing like mad, thought it might be a dud battery overworking the alternator a little as the belt itself seems fine and I readjusted it.

Fitted a new battery today and squeal persists so I'll get an alternator and belt into it this week.

It's so good just getting out for random drives at the weekend, although the Cayman will be back from Mcmillans this week all being well so will retire the mini for a few weeks to tackle some of the bigger jobs. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

This has fired my Dad up to finally get his sorted and on the road so spent this afternoon getting it running and driving again, now to tackle building a few more bits on it ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Another small simple mod fitted but wow what a difference! KAD Quickshift, actually feels more precise than the caymans now ๐Ÿ˜‚

Interior almost complete, new headliner to be fitted but that's a job well beyond me ๐Ÿ˜‚

And a bit more building to Dad's for good measure. If all the parts arrive for his hopefully I will have it all together and cleaned this weekend.

Then his needs a damn good service and a few gaskets replaced for good measure ๐Ÿ˜Ž

New mk1 fibreglass bonnet from Abs Motorsports fitted and painted by Curries. The only panel on the car that's well painted ๐Ÿ˜‚

Then fitted my Morris Cooper mk1 grille ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Bar a headlight change and wheel change the car looks exactly how I want it too.

Also finally got rid of the centre exit exhaust and fitted a new rc40 back box. It is far too quiet and small though so will be changing it out to a playmini 3".

Next up are some KAD brakes to allow me to run 10's and full fast road suspension set up.

For now I will just enjoy it for the rest of the summer before it goes away to have the metalwork done over winter and a slight colour change too ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Looks great man, I haven't stopped looking at these since chatting about this one last week so I'd say one is on the cards soon enough.
Spied one on ebay on tens too, they don't look as small as i imagined.

Would be worth paying a specialist to assemble and recommission and sell as a finished car

this little 1962 mini austin seven has been sitting unmoved since being repainted over 10 years ago. the old guy died the other week and it was his father's car and then his from new. original bill of sale and tax book was all there when i last spoke to him before he died. its mostly all there and put together again from being painted. its coming up for sale but how do you value it.

As low as you can sell it to me for lol.

A lot of people would appreciate it untouched though ? for them to do any restoration work, or not ?
