Since then as im sure you have all read their has been quite the change to it, so it will be soon time for an awesome pic collage because ye-no..... VW✌

So these were taking in June of 2014 i think 6 years from then until now

I did wonder how long it’d take to change your mind from twin pass to single pass!

Looks far better from the front and even from the engine bay. Get the extended MAP sensor from Dave. If you want to save some money too, a BAM charge pipe works, that’s what I ran on mine below just sprayed in black.

I tried to keep mine OEM looking so didn’t fancy any super bright colours.

@sam_9n never actually seen any pictures of your bay........ and my god its clean still think you should give the black one a chance.

I have been on to dave and he is sending me out one of the extensions for the map sensor and i have ordered a trackslag ko3s charge pipe i dont see the point of stepping up a size to then step down again in my eyes, plan is to make everything black as you have done above.
I HATE the look of bright in your face tacky crap that people do in these but like you said oem is the way to go hands down

realistically i was never going to get the numbers i wanted with that airtec its been playing at the back of my mind for a while 8o|

good man, the airtec is decent for stage 2. Maybe struggle to get the flow and especially with our crappy fuel over here to hit decent numbers with it on.

Giving the Black Polo to the Mrs, got a runabout first a few months myself and maybe get a nice car at the end of the year hopefully.

Little update

i have had more pictures sent through for the painters and its now on the final stages

Recess cut out on the underside of the bonnet to allow more clearance for the intake manifold from creating more damage to the top skin

Before it went in it was just hitting the bonnet so it created a very fine line up through the metal work were it was clearly rubbing from the underside

Skirts have been painted and fixed from a huge kink in the materiel when received through transport unfortunately, but all looks good so far

THICC

Money shot

Forgot how much these bumpers change the car, It will look the part when painted

I honestly think this is the longest time a car has ever been in a paint shop :joy:

Parts have also started to arrive at the home house for the signal pass fmic so when i get home at the end of the month it will be ass in gear to get it mounted and plumbed

Iv also got a track slag charge pipe suited for a ko3s to go in, so this means the huge impulse buy for the manifold will be useful after all.

plan is to pull everything of the turbo to the twin pass, flip the manifold and plumb everything up, should mean now that i have taking this step that i will have no issues getting 300BHP that i had other negative thoughts about floating in the back of my mind if it was achievable our not.
@Rossios can also relate to this because he was the poor soul listing to my complaining

Thanks for reading

Jack

Excellent! Looking forward to it being done. As much as I love TD wheels I’m glad you’ve went for something different.

I fully regret selling my red one before buying a front cup bumper for it!

Skirts fitted -4 jack point covers, their gonna be a problem to keep in, I think some sort of bonding will be required.

The rear diffuser had to be accented

Parts started to arrive for the new FMIC , such as pluming the cooler itself and also a nice track slag charge pipe.

Theirs plenty to be done for when i actually get back to the emerald isle 🤞, alot of which hasn't been listed.

Its basically been a 5 month parts pile up, so depending what the situation is with the government regulations im not assed as i have loads to do in the shed .

Work have also given me a date. 21st of June ,which is followed by the phrase ''its been pencilled in'' which also means it can be rubbed out and things could change again .
Work for the government it will be fun they said !!!

Painters have also told me that the car should be completely finished for the weekend ,so its been organised to be collected by a friend and let it sit in their shed for a week our 2 until Im back to let things properly cure.

You know who you are thanks babes :kissing_heart: 💋

SOOO........... here is my effort at attempt to go dark for a few weeks and work silently on the car, lets see how long that lasts ........

Thanks for reading

Jack

So here we are its now been six months since i last set eyes on the car in person

and the change is surreal

still no pictures up of the full car until i get on with @natogreen16v on the reload podcast log.
so until that happens it will remain unseen despite a few that have already landed down on my backstreet unexpectedly and seen it.

first thing ill start of with is the bumper, one of the inner mount tabs has broke so it does not sit perfectly flush with the wing yet so a fresh one has been ordered to replace the broken part.

in terms of the paint, i was speechless when i first say it.
it completely changes the character of the car and the road presence is completely different to what it was before it had the work done to it.
but thats not what im here to write about..

so ill get on with it.

i have been back in the country 48 hours and here is the progress, some good and some bad but it shall be worked around.

This is the state of the engine bay that it was left in by the paint shop so on wards goes the difficulty of cleaning up a hell of a lot of dust

also the battery is now in the boot and im in the process of sourcing a 3d printed box to mount the fuse box on the side of the chassis leg

zzz13.jpg

As you were all aware i had bought a single pass fmic a few weeks ago ant its the first priority to get mounted and fixed on as the next stage is tuning.

i started by pulling off the throttle body and unbolting the manifold from on top of the trumpets and pulling all connectors and pipes being sure to mark and label them for future reference when it comes to the reinstall.

zzz9.jpg

Next on the list was to remove every part of the old inter cooler and the factory charge pipes/ plumbing

zzz7.jpg

After that it was time to tackle the fuel lines and rail something that needed to be out of the way, our it was going to end with a broken injector witch im not willing to deal with.

106540517_3194181010640584_9082932293079032781_o.jpg

the fixing came out fine.......

the rail came off fine......

3 injectors came out fine....

So a little fun fact for you all........

Use a syringe with a plastic pipe to remove the access fuel out of the injector before pulling it out

Injector number 4 was being a bit stubborn, but with some gentle pulling it popped out under pressure and pissed super unleaded into my eye.............

I was able to keep calm and capture the moment for your comedy purposes

106366395_3194182033973815_3776126255434941586_n.jpg

Just to let yous know it FXXKING HURT and burned like a BITXH

So ha ha ha have you laugh :joy:

Now that was out of the way i put the new charge pipe on while loosely bolting the manifold on to give me an idea as to what clearances i would have.

106471190_3194182197307132_6159548897856381230_o.jpg

I have a small bit of heat proofing on pipes such as fuel and coolant lines im going to sleeve in the fibreglass heat sheath.

this will prevent any burn through on the rubber lines with the heat in the long run

106393087_3194180317307320_1684741447919253420_o.jpg

Everything their worked out well apart from the throttle body and the flange on the end of the manifold.

Im encountering the same problem were it hit off the underside of the bonnet skin and will damage the top surface if im not careful, but im not willing to take the risk so here is what we have come up with to fix the problem

This is the small amount of damage on the driver side im trying to prevent in future on the passenger

zzz10.jpg

Iv had a look, and a bit of a think, and this is the solution that jayme and I are going to go with.

Mill the corners of the manifold flange and round them to take the height off it and to space and slightly move the throttle body, this adaptor we have made will allow me to easily install water meth down the line if the occasion arises.

zzz4.jpg
zzz5.jpg

onto the fmic

After throwing some light paint on it, i mounted it to the ali angle i had and then fixed it behind the crashbar for a rough idea to where it would sit in reference to its final spot

zzz11.jpg
106987505_3194179610640724_5560757125377159015_o.jpg

So thats it for now

At the moment im watching for the postman
missing some bits,
And a few bits were broken due to the petrol eye situation as im sure you will understand

But for now that is it, thanks for taking the time to read and look
