Any local fork re-chromers

Anyone know of anyone local that does it.
Its worn through the chrome to the metal underneath

Can get them done down south if it comes to it.

Any pointers appreciated

I couldn't find anyone couple years ago. For the sake of about £15 postage and no driving around, just post them to Philpotts / pittedforks.co.uk for hard re-chrome. They specialise in forks, they check for straight and true and use centreless lathe.
I got a pair of right way up stantions done for about £175. A bit more if you send the whole forks or if USD.
Not cheap, but they will be correct tolerance, better chrome than new and only takes couple of weeks.

As far as I know they just do decorative chrome plating.
You want somewhere that can grind back the pitting with a cylindrical grinder and plate to the correct tolerance with "hard" chrome.

I got a bumper rechromed with them 2 years ago, but can see rust starting to come through already and car has never been out in wet really. Bumper wasn't rusty beforehand, just dulled!

Now is a good a chance as any to show them what their workmanship ends up like.
