Hi all,
I have a 2013 A7 with 55k which Audi say needs timing chain replaced - I got from Hursts and have warranty on it, should be pretty straight forward, right?!
Estimate is £6,500...

Anyone any thoughts?
Cheers

Chains “normally” last the life of the car....what are they saying is wrong with it?
And eh £6500! Is that for a full engine rebuild or something ^o)

That's normal price for this apparently - 33 hours labour! Whole engine out job and I believe 4 tensioners and chain

It’s as well u have warranty! 33 hrs? That’s near a weeks work lol. And at rates of over £100 an hour I’m sure

That's crazy stuff. I thought a car of that year would have had the chain issues resolved.

What engine, 3.0 tdi? Are they going to cover it?

Yeh 3ltr mate, they haven’t agreed yet, are sending an assessor to see it - can’t see how they wouldn’t sort it through warranty? They had it for 3 weeks and couldn’t find a fault so I went to Audi.
