Picked the e-tron up today, unbelievable car, pace, comfort and safety, as a family car it ticks all the boxes. The technology in it is something else and the 0-60 is very impressive for such a big motor.

I see audi are now offering a couple of online options for park assist and the headlights. Anyone tried it yet?

So they just deactivate it when you stop paying?! Sounds like some money earner

@Coog do you have the technik model? i was in audi earlier and was in the s line, the s line you can increase the height/ angle of the arm rest but can't recall you being able to do that in the technik model that I was in, increasing the height made the driving position more comfortable for me. c

Yes and no height adjustment on the arm rest in it. A bit of extra height would have been nice right enough!

Correct.

However as a leaser, I would rather pay £1025 for an option over 3 years than £1600. You normally pay all options up front on a lease, so it's actually cheaper. Not that I'd actually go ahead with it anyway. But if, for example, they offered a performance upgrade to run for the 3 years I'd be sorely tempted.

Is it the new e-tron that has cameras instead of wing mirrors? I was in Audi a few weeks ago and a jeep of some sort had that. Not sure how I feel about looking at a wee screen instead!

It's an option, yeah. Seem to be riddled with problems though.

The country and fast charging points are full of these now due to this deal!

Audi needed to reduce the overall co2 output for their products, hence the price. Next door gets one in a day or two and theres one a few doors down. All the docs the mrs works with have or are waiting for one

A guy I run with ordered one a few weeks ago, he's never even sat one or had one for a test drive 😄

Thread revival.

Can anyone who got this deal answer a question? Does it affect your pension?
Ie as the car is coming off your top line, your % pension payment will be lower or does pension contributions stay the same.

I can get access to this deal or very similar but can't get a straight answer re pensions.

There are some posts on the first page that go into it a bit, with links to someone explaining it on Pistonheads.

My wife works in the NHS, had briefly considered going down this route, but read there could be pension implications in the long term, not sure how relevant the below is but worth considering.

some details below taken from: NHS lease scheme - Page 2 - Car Buying - PistonHeads

It does affect pension but not by a huge amount, also depends on your salary. My wife worked hers out roughly and came to the conclusion that it affected it by around £4-500 less per year or around £1500 for the length of the 3 year deal. So if you aren’t doing the leases for say the next 20 years it shouldn’t be that much of an issue and anyway who knows what the state of pensions will be by the time she retires (about 25-30 years away!)

This is very true. Our pensions will be in the toilet by then going by history so maybe I shouldn't worry to much.

Assuming your scheme is the same as the nhs one, the answer is that there will definitely be some impact on pension, whether it’s enough to be relevant isn’t clear. People smarter than me have got an opinion from a specialist accountant before taking up the lease but I reckon (as you alluded to) that the pension is a bit of a moveable feast and it’s impossible to predict what will happen over the next few decades so I’m just plodding on with another lease.

It will also depend on whether you are on final salary or career average (or both like me). Any salary sacrifice scheme will affect your pension and there are calculators on the regional pension site that could work it out for you.

We had a Q4 on order from last august and with no delivery date in sight we got the chance to move to a 2023 Q8 etron for an extra £10 a month! It Should be arriving between April and June. Can’t believe our luck.

The Q8 is an updated version of the original etron with better range, bigger battery, more power, same air suspension and full leather etc, we went for metallic Chronos Grey. I was never mad keen on the q4 after seeing a few on the road they look a bit skinny and the spec isn’t as refined out of the box as a Q8 so it’s turned out well in the end.

Yeah unfortunately 😬. Works out at just over £400 a month for us but that’s all you will pay, everything else is free including tyres! All you have to pay for is your charging obviously but the range on this is up-to 280 per charge.
